    THE BACK TO WAX REVUE
Tom Rodwell, Madame Pamita, the Borough Cat VS the Vulcan Cylinder Record Co.

    *** Wed May 20 - The George Tavern, 373 Commercial Road, Stepney, London E1 0LA - 8pm £6 / £4 concessions
    *** Sun May 24 - The Luminaire, 311 Kilburn High Road, London NW6 7JR 7.30pm £10 door / £8 adv from www.wegottickets.co.uk

Weep not for the CD! Presenting the Back to Wax Revue, live onstage primitivist soundclash featuring genuine wax cylinder recording sessions. Witness performers battle with the original medium of recorded sound, Edison's wax cylinder, state of the art circa 1877. Ponder how recording mediums affect music; what changes in in the midst of form and content?

    FEAT:
Tom Rodwell (NZ) - gospel-blues primitivist
Madame Pamita (LA) w/ K. Boogie - the world's foremost euphonious prognosticatrix
Borough Cat (London) - London's doe-eyed dude of dolorum
    VS
The Vulcan Cylinder Record Co. of Sheffield, UK - one of only two studios in the world with the capacity to acoustically record cylinders in the Edison fashion, Vulcan is also the world's only cylinder pressing plant and label.

Society is afraid of your wild natures
    afraid of your naturalness,
    so from the very beginning,
    it starts cutting your wings.
And the most dangerous possibility in you
    is the possibility of love.
Because if there is love, you can go even against the whole world.
If you know your being, there is no question of becoming.
All that you could have ever imagined to become you already are.
You are gods who have forgotten who they are.
You are emperors who have fallen asleep and are dreaming that they have become beggars.
Now beggars are trying to become emperors,
in dreams they are making great efforts to become emperors,
and all that is needed is to wake up!
You may be the last generation which has be the possibility to rebel.
And if you don't rebel there may be no more chances.
Humanity can be reduced to a robot like existence.
So rebel while there is still time!

Blurbs

About me:

The Bloomsbury Lanes or just 'the lanes' as our many regulars call us is a unique venue in London or indeed anywhere. At the core of the venue are our eight bowling lanes and bar. However, we have morphed into a live music venue, with a new upgraded sound system and dj booth. Watching live music or dancing to our djs at the lanes is truly special. We host a wide range of events, club nights and live performances. Check out our calendar below for details. We are conveniently located on Tavistock Square, close to Russell Square tube, Euston and Holborn. www.bloomsburybowling.com Tel: 0207 183 1979 Bookings: info@bloomsburybowling.com Band Enquiries: music@bloomsburybowling.com ..
