The Shapes. In 1979, we released our first single, a four track EP, containing the songs Batman in the Launderette, and College Girls, and despite our efforts to the contrary, by being idiots, it became a hit in the UK, mainly throught the efforts of that sadly missed titan of music, the BBC’s John Peel. He booked us for a Radio One session, and it launched us nationwide. The next years became a blur of recording, gigs and bands, most of which are detailed on other web sites. You can read all about The Shapes here. You can even buy our last CD if you like. It won’t make me rich, but it will make you happy. Go on, knock yourself out.
Please don’t confuse us with all the other bands out there called The Shapes. We’re the ones that haven’t played live since 1982, despite many offers to reform on the punk nostalgia circuit. Please don’t ask any of those bands to play Batman in the Launderette. They will probably beat you severely if you do.
However, you can buy the new adventures of Brian Helicopter in the form of the The Ghosthookers. The new album is out now ! Just imagine The Shapes, only older, fatter and drunker. Why would you not buy one ? Think of it as a charitable act for some old punks in shocking physical condition (except Brian, who remains Adonis-like). It’s the most fun you can have for $10 plus P+P.
Probably.
Make my day, click the Buy Now button, and release those endorphins. Then you can imagine Brian having to get up off his arse, put one in an envelope and go the post office to mail it. If you time it right, you can make him do it multiple times in one day. Brian hates going to the Post Office....
