BIO
Repeatedly cited as "Best Jazz" by Metroland magazine, Brian Patneaude is one of the busiest musicians in New York's Capital District, maintaining an active performance schedule with salsa/merengue favorites Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra, the award winning Empire Jazz Orchestra and the seventeen piece juggernaut Big Soul Ensemble. He has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Kingston International Jazz Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival Saratoga, the Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival, the Rochester International Jazz Festival and countless clubs and concert halls throughout the Northeast.

After a full tuition scholarship trip to Cincinnati College-Conservatory Of Music for graduate studies in performance, Patneaude took a detour from the traditional path: rather than pack his bags for New York City, he returned to his hometown. The result was fertile ground, ripe with undiscovered talent on which to cultivate the development of Albany mainstay, the Brian Patneaude Quartet (now in its seventh year of a weekly residency at Justin’s Jazz Club.)

Riverview is a collection of six original compositions as well as arrangements of Don Grolnick's "The Cost of Living" (originally recorded by saxophonist Michael Brecker) and Billy Strayhorn's classic "Chelsea Bridge." The album was recorded in one night, September 23, 2008, at Bender Studios in Delmar, NY and is dedicated to Patneaude's mother, whose successful battle with breast cancer was made possible in part by the staff at Riverview Cancer Care.

In addition to performing, Patneaude runs www.albanyjazz.com, an online guide to the region's jazz community. He spends most of his free time listening to, playing & composing music, rooting for the Boston Red Sox & Cincinnati Bengals and speaking in the third person.

Hallo People!
I believe that music can unite people from the most remote corners of our planet.
I would like to offer to create live music via Internet together. You can record your instrument via computer and send this record to me via Internet so I can play together with you.
Also, together we can find the other musicians for our music created and played together.
We can understand each other with the help of our music and send our messages to the whole world.
Mark OConnor
