Brian Templeton has been on the scene for close to 20 years now. His barrelhouse belting style of singing, hot harmonica playing and exuberant onstage persona has garnered him a legion of fans in the U.S, Europe and beyond. He has toured as the front man of the legendary Radio Kings, as a solo artist and has worked along side of some world class Blues stars, such as Otis Grand, James Cotton, Sonny Rhodes and recently with up and coming guitar wiz Enrico Crivellaro. The main thing he prides himself on is his ability to entertain his fans. “I don’t think of myself as a musician first but as a showman. I want my audience involved, whether it be by dancing, singing or just clapping along to the beat.” Anyone who has seen Brian perform will tell you, they’ve never left his show unsatisfied.
His body of recording work includes four records with The Radio Kings and three as a solo artist. All of these discs have been received with much enthusiasm from critics and fans alike. In a review of Brian’s first solo effort “home” (produced by Monster Mike Welch) for the Stone Cold Records label, Steve Morse of the Boston Globe wrote…
"Brian Templeton has gone solo in scintillating fashion. Showcasing a soul-drenched voice that cuts across styles with deceptive ease. Templeton sings (and writes) first rate songs, imbuing them with passion and clarity.”
In 2008, Brian sang background vocals on “Eddie Loves You So” the critically acclaimed comeback record of Stax legend Eddie Floyd, produced by Radio Kings guitar man Michael Dinallo. Dinallo and Templeton then teamed up and recorded the first Radio King record in over ten years. Simply called “The Radio Kings” the disc is being lauded as one of the best American Roots Records released in many years. Revolver Magazine gave it 4 Stars and called it “Adventurous, exciting, honest and authentic”
Whether as a member of the Radio Kings or as a solo artist Brian Templeton has thrilled audiences around the world and continues to carve out his own path, singing and playing real music for his fans.
