The man they called BROKOF was a blazing dark speckle in one families history. A player with a wandering heart. The band called BROKOF, follows him into the vastness and gives it a face. They draft a map with songs. Songs about encounters, fleeting moments of truth. With great urgency they engross themselves in the moment and dismiss them in the lingering sound of a guitar. Interaction originates and thats all it takes. They sing with a beautiful solemn sadness and yet sometimes there is a hint of rage from the permanent losses that happen when one moves and about what one gains, when there is nothing more to be expected. Or to put it another way: these are pop songs, grand and yet at the same time purged and reduced to the core. Every sound stands alone yet it serves the song, there are no tricks. The Band started in January 2007.
In September 2007 they released the split EP "Sorry Gilberto vs Brokof" on Goldrausch-Records.
Their first album will be released in the fall of 2009, named: I HEART.

SORRY GILBERTO like melodies you can hum along to by yourself, inbetween places, in the an afternoon. its all about the weather, big cities and small towns and especially about the people, running around, trying to get a grip on something (or maybe on each other) these songs are shortmovies. somebody has lost the storyboard in the rain, so you can concentrate on faces, sudden movements and the strange guy in the back. if you are into instruments, give a hand to the lazy guitars, the squeeky organs, the swinging basslines, the stoic beats of the rodeo and the little casio. there are voices too. singing about things you already know. I don‘t see my songs as rock songs in the traditional sense, more like music and sounds wrapped around little poems. Poems that may be as short as one line.
