Since late 1999, Chicago’s Brother Lowdown has produced loose, jangly original rock in the vein of the Replacements and early R.E.M. and is starting to garner new attention on the regional rock scene.
From The Chicago Reader, August 2006:
"On it’s debut album, this quartet flits from southern
jangle pop to alt-country to emo without settling neatly into any particular niche. But despite all that wandering, the disc is a better-than average set...the songcraft is consistently appealing." (Full Review)
From The Illinois Entertainer, July 2006:
"...this eclectic mix makes for an extremely interesting debut that shows the diverse musical flair of the band and keeps the listener anxiously waiting to hear what’s next." (Full Review)
The band concluded its almost-eight-year career on July 20, 2007, at Martyrs’ in Chicago, in a farewell show.
