The ‘Brookes Brothers’, or Phil and Dan to their mates, have emerged as one of the major breakthrough drum n bass artists of recent years. Raised in London, the two brothers discovered a love for the more soulful sounds of drum’n’bass around the turn of the millenium. It was not long before they began producing in 2002. Fast forward six years and the brothers have already established themselves as some of the most exciting producers on the scene. Their debut 12" ‘Portal/Desert Island’ came out on Danny Wheeler's W10 imprint to immediate acclaim, setting the Brookes' on their road to success. This was followed by ‘Verano’, a collaboration with old cohort and longtime collaborator Subfocus, one of the biggest tunes of 2006. As a result of their hard work, in 2007 the Brookes Brothers were exclusively signed to Fresh and Adam F’s Breakbeat Kaos imprint. Their first release on Breakbeat Kaos was the huge ‘Hard Knocks/Mistakes’, which recieved major radio support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and the Trophy Twins, as well as staple drum & bass DJ's such as Andy C, Grooverider, and Adam F. Next up they collaborated with another rising star, Culture Shock, together creating the monster track 'Rework', one of the biggest drum'n'bass tracks of 2007.
2008 saw the brothers catapulted even further up the ladder with a string of massive releases. Earlier in the year saw their remix of J Majik & Wickaman’s ‘Crazy World’ picked up by Ministry Of Sound’s Data imprint, pricking up the ears of the Radio 1 bods so much so it gained them daytime radio play as well as huge support yet again from the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and beyond. Then onto ‘Tear You Down’ on BBK, the track that saw them reach number 1 in the UK dance charts, with even Sarah Cox giving it ‘Record Of The Week’ status.
Now with residencies at clubs such as Fabric and an ever-increasing amount of DJ sets around the globe, and with their debut album set for release this summer on Breakbeat Kaos, 2009 is shaping up to be the year of the Brookes Brothers. You have been warned!!

Respect Records is glad to present its 1st vinyl release. 12 inch plate represents 2 parts of modern drum&bass music and contains compositions by Russian producers.
red side: BES & RECEPTOR 'Shiva'
white side: ABSTRACT ELEMENTS 'Erpeh'
Dance moods and neuro sound of woken up Shiva attract the listener to external displays and have made the track by Bes & Receptor as much as possible expected on large parties not only in Russia. On the other side Abstract Elements show ultra futuristic minimal sound in its best displays which immerses a person in itself even on a dancefloor. We love both these tracks, and this mutual respect of the opposite points of view expresses the wisdom of our label to hold on the golden middle in music...
Respect Records presents: GRINDA + ZIGZAG 'Share Dreams' LP
With each track of the new album by Grinda + ZigZag we plunge into the world of bright imaginations, the space romanticism and the dreams impregnated with warm sensation of today. The abundance of improbable melodic passages, bass groove and expressive drums is a new view of a duo on the creativity. Having achieved own sounding in the previous album, musicians perfect it, opening sides of the talent in an interlacing soulful and cinematic sounds, mainstream and space melodies...
