Drums and percussion are appealing - Dave and Lillian enjoy artists like Sting, Roots, Eurythmics, Colin James, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley, Bruce Cockburn and numerous others; though the Brummet's youth was spent with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Nazareth, Styx and so forth. We both enjoy music that says something powerful and artists that play tastefully without ego. Dave is a music teacher for groups and individuals learning drum kit and various percussion instruments. His business, Drum-it Percussion, also repairs and services instruments.

TRASH TALK ( ISBN: 1-4137-2518-X / ISBN-13: 978-1413725186 ) ~ People are constantly bombarded with negative information about the environment and our resources. Feeling powerless because we cannot afford to donate cash or time to a cause, we begin to feel overwhelmed by the immense environmental problems our world faces. In Trash Talk, we focus on changing people's mindset to a more open, hopeful and proactive one. Not by finger-pointing at corporations and governments, but by starting in our own homes, at our own desks. We focus on the reuse of "waste" materials and reducing the consumption of resources. Trash talk is written to empower people to feel more positive about their worth as individuals in a hectic, expensive, environmentally stressed world. We show how to make a real and visible difference, while saving money at the same time. -- Brummet's Fund-raising Efforts --

Lillian and Dave Brummet are known for their volunteer work with school theater productions, art presentations, fund-raising events, participation in green initiatives and donations of thousands of books over the past 10 years to the following organizations: Grand Forks and West Boundary Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy - Women's Resource Center - Whispers of Hope Org. - Grand Forks Public Library - Community Futures Resource Center.

When the Brummet's became published authors they decided to make sure that some of the proceeds were given to charity. While there are so many worthy causes the Brummet's would love to play a role in - realistically they must limit their efforts to only a few. But you can help too!

Help the authors, who donate 30% of the royalties they receive from book sales, raise funds for the Society for Prevention Against Cruelty to Animals, the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Seeds of Diversity Organization simply by purchasing your very own copy of one of their books - information at: www.brummet.ca
