Greetings..
I'm very happy to write to you this summer's day with the most exciting news!
I am finally the proud mother of a brand new album, sent off to press after a couple of years of tinkering..
It's been a patchwork quilt project, left in the corner for a while, then rediscovered.. It's a travelling nomad much like myself, recorded in various parts of the country in friends' kitchens, hallways, churches, living rooms and studios..
After school I went travelling with my guitar to various countries, busking & exploring, and from then on I have put my heart into living as a musician.
The last few years have taken me on a valuable journey, mainly between Britain, Australia and America, experimenting musically with wonderful, challenging and interesting people. I've worked with numerous producers and home studio engineers, dabbled in Record Companies and Music Management, and tried to get my head around that vast chasm known as the Music Industry!
It has taken me a long time to get to a place of understanding, where I finally feel like these songs can be released into the wild - as they are - a truthful expression of a moment in time.
Over the years I've put out bits and pieces of recordings, including the Live, raw solo album 'Suddenly Raining', but by contrast, my new album 'The Kitchen Table' has been lovingly arranged and produced, and feels like the debut album I've always been working towards.
In the making of this album, I had the opportunity to gather some of my favourite musicians from around the country. Many have become dear friends, and I feel honoured to have their touch and sound on these recordings.
I paid for most of the album myself, with help from a couple of generous souls, and I have been at the wheel every step of the way.. It feels incredible to have put so much time, love and energy into this project and to have an understanding of the complete process of making and releasing an album.
In the end, it seemed to me, and the friends around me, that the healthiest and simplest way to keep my creative freedom was to make my own record label. So 'Wild Cedar Records' was born.
I am really grateful to be able to release this body of work into the world, and hope whoever hears it will enjoy it, and feel the love and life that has gone into it. Music is magical and cannot be owned - all we can do is make it and let it go.. who knows where it may land..
Along with 'The Kitchen Table' I'm releasing a 5 track EP called 'Early Morning Train Ride' (featuring a couple of tracks from the album). So please go to my website, www.carrietree.com, click the 'BUY NOW 'PayPal' buttons, and place your order!
Thank you to all those who have supported me along the way.. we'll have a party one day!
Keep Shining Bright,
Carrie

If the positive innovations connect exponentially before the massive
breakdowns reinforce one another, the system can repattern itself to a
higher order of consciousness and freedom without the predicted
economic, environmental, or social collapse ... If the system could go
either way, a slight intervention to assist the convergence of the
positive can tip the scales of evolution in favour of the enhancement
of life on Earth. Barbara Marx Hubbard.
