Pionnier du dubstep français depuis 2003 et de ses grooves midtempo aussi techniques qu'hypnotiques, le trinôme Caterva s'apprête à percuter les bacs avec la sortie de 4 vinyles concepts distillés sur quelques mois plus un album long-play, prévu courant 2010 sur le label IOT Records.
Rétrospective.
Début des années 2000. Manndibull, alors installé dans le sud-ouest de l'hexagone, trafique les rythmiques trip-hop tandis que son futur alter-ego, No Prod, patrouille les free parties dans lesquelles il propage ses DJ sets.
2003. Manndibull s'exporte à Strasbourg et croise les sillons de No Prod. Le feeling, immédiat, convainc les deux DJs / producteurs d'unir leurs riddims pour le meilleur et pour le live. La violoniste Anita Bomba se joint à eux : l'entité Caterva voit le jour.
Un premier live à la Laiterie de Strasbourg confirme la raison d'être de ce trio d'avant-garde aux mœurs si sensuellement breakbeat et dub tekno.
De Dj sets en live sets, via la création du label dubstep, "Sens Inverse" (fondé en 2004 par Manndibull et No Prod), le buzz de Caterva se répand et propage ses Bpm aux côtés d'artistes aussi différents que percutants : Warlock, Les Trolls, Bunzero, Mala Dmz, 30Hrz, l'Œuf Raide, Ezekiel, 69 Db, Abraxxxas, Dalek, Fumuj, Buraka Som Sistema, Goldie, Von D... Un mélange des genres et une ouverture d'esprit clairement assumés qui assurent à Caterva ce son Dubstep si caractéristique, savant mélange de beatz syncopés, de textures deep et de méditation dub.
2004. Caterva fais une tournée en Tchéquie et rancontre, le Tomahawk sound system (dont Audictive, néo cortex du label IOT Records, est l'un des membres actifs). Une alliance lourde de sens est scellée.
2006. Caterva se focalise sur la compo de nouveaux lives, se sépare d'Anita et s'enrichit d'un nouveau membre: le VJ Kashmir, metteur en images de leurs live sets.
Toujours à l'affut des nouvelles tendances, Manndibull et No Prod présentent, en parallèle, la 1ère émission de Bass Muzics sur les ondes de Radio 404 (http://www.erreur404.org).
Les collaborations se multiplient. Avec DTC Records (l'espace d'un remix de Laurent De Wilde, réalisé par Otisto 23 (co-fondateur du label DTC et acteur sonore d’I.O.T Records) mais surtout IOT Records (sur la BO de la BD "Future Exposed", sur le DVD "Mongolia Expedisound" et sur l'album "Elektrons" d'Abraxxxas).
2009. Forts de ces prolifiques échanges, l'Eklektronik Music Factory, IOT Records, propose à Caterva une série de 4 vinyles concepts (Nord / Sud / Est / Ouest), histoire d'explorer les différentes pulsations de la bass music : de l'école break dubstep anglaise ou wobble (Nord) aux musiques sud ghetto do Brasil, façon kuduro, cumbia et baile funk (Sud) et de la minimale berlinoise (Est) au reggae breakbeat inspiré du hip-hop midtempo californien (Ouest).
Dénominateur commun de ces 4 parutions : faire découvrir l'éclectisme dubstep et conjuguer à tous les grooves, ses beatz sensuels et spirituels de 140 bpm.
Prochaine étape ? La sortie, courant 2010, d'un premier véritable album, toujours sur IOT Records.
La musique électronique n'a qu'à bien se tenir : Caterva, plus "original massive" que jamais, arrive en force dans la place, prêt à révolutionner avec lascivité, les règles d'or du dancefloor.

CATERVA feat VJ Kashmir
Pioneer of the French dubstep since 2003 and of its midtempo grooves, as technical as hypnotic, Caterva is about to collide the record stores with the release of 4 concept EPs, followed by an album (planned in 2010) on IOT Records.
Retrospective.
Early 2000s. Manndibull, then settled in the southwest of France, toys with the trip-hop rhythmic whereas his future alter-ego, No. Prod, patrols the rave scene, propagating his DJ sets.
2003. Manndibull moves to Strasbourg and bumps into No. Prod's grooves. The instantaneous feeling convinces both Djs / producers to unite their riddims for the best and for the live. Violinist Anita Bomba joins in: the Caterva entity is launched.
A very first live set in Strasbourg's venue, La Laiterie, confirms the "raison d'être" of this cutting edge threesome and of its sensual breakbeat and dub tekno customs.

With its sheer mix of genres and assumed open mindedness, Caterva distinguishes itself with a specific Dubstep sound and a brilliant mixture of syncopated beatz, deep textures and dub meditation.
2004. Caterva plays in the Czech Republic with the Tomahawk sound system (from which Audictive, neocortex of the IOT Records label, is an active member). A strong alliance is sealed.
2006. Caterva focuses on the composition of its new lives, parts with Anita and integrates a new member: VJ Kashmir, the visual director of the live performances.
Always on the look-out for new trends, Manndibull and No. Prod host the Bass Muzics's very first French radio show on Radio 404 (http: // www.erreur404.org).
Collaborations are on the increase. With DTC Records (on a Laurent De Wilde's remix, produced by Otisto 23, the DTC Records co-founder and IOT Records sound engineer) but mostly, with IOT Records (on the "Future Exposed" soundtrack, on the "Mongolia Expedisound" Dvd and on Abraxxxas second album, " Elektrons ").
2009. With such a wealth of prolific and common experiences, the Eklektronik Music Factory, IOT Records, offers Caterva a series of 4 concept EPs (North / South / East / West).
Ambitious goal of this project: to investigate the various pulsations of Bass Music… From the break dubstep or "wobble" British school (North) to the south ghetto music do Brazil, including kuduro, cumbia and baile funk (South), via the Berlin minimal (East) and the reggae breakbeat inspired by Californian midtempo hip-hop (West).
Common denominator of these 4 publications: to expose the dubstep eclecticism, its sensual grooves and spiritual beatz of 140 bpm.
Next step? The release, sometime in 2010, of a first lp on IOT Records.
The electronic music should beware: more "original massive" than ever, Caterva is in the place and about to revolutionize with lasciviousness, the golden rules of the dancefloor.
