Just this weekend we were listening to XXXChange's awesome remix of "L.E.S. Artistes" and thinking that if he made a new wavey electro-pop album, we would almost certainly make it rain on said album. Our wishes are a little closer to being realized with this bodacious, clicky, gongy track "Controlar," sung en Español by the excellent Tijuana/LA-based vocalist Ceci Bastida, who Mexican punk completists will remember from border revolutionaries Tijuana NO!, and whose voice is refreshingly husky like a summer rainstorm. Our Spanish is reprehensible, but we are still singing the memorable hook around the office, loudly.
