Chanty Poe’s ‘Yeahh’ is a heavyweight contender for debut album of the year – if not the decade. Punx Soundcheck’s sinister alter ego Chanty Poe grabs the zeitgeist by the cajones with this rave-flavoured collision of electro, hip hop, bassline, and party techno.
Rising stars MissOddKidd and C. Monts make guest appearances on the tracks ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘Weekend Cruise’ respectively, and a remix by acid house royalty S-Express concludes this 10 track monster – the first album to be released on Tobias Doppelganger’s rapidly ascending Hottwerk Records.
From a handful of early promos, the tracks ‘YesNoMaybe’ and ‘Germs Are People’ have already been blowing up dancefloors across Europe from Parisian boat parties to Bulgarian festivals to seedy London basements.
Chanty’s first vinyl outing, ‘Rudeboy’ (from the Inferno EP), which gained support from Mark Moore, Jagz Kooner, Tronik Youth, Infadels, XFM, Kiss, (amongst many others), and received a 5 * review in DJ Magazine, has been stripped down, redesigned, and rebuilt for the album.
‘Yeahh’ is supported by designers YESNOMAYBE and
SUPER SUPER MAGAZINE – two of the album’s traxx were named in homage to these contemporary underground icons.
Look out! For the limited edition Yeahh caps by YESNOMAYBE!
