Chase Mist have quickly gained a reputation on the midlands folk scene as a polished and exciting contemporary acoustic/folk act. With their undoubted ability to spot or write a good tune, they have come up with an eclectic mix of songs. This, coupled with solid musicianship and outstanding vocal ability makes them an act not to be missed!
Formed by Glenn Tunley and Robin Draper, who originally played in a band during their school days, they got back together again after a long absence to fulfil the need to create music and perform. The local folk clubs around South Staffordshire with their informal set up were an ideal platform allowing them to just turn up and play. Soon they were asked back to do guest nights.
Tessa Tunley joined on guitar, flute and with her exceptional voice, the band was transformed into something rather special. Tessa's folk roots go back to her teenage years where she was in the resident duo at Laurie & Jean Wards "Barrel's Folk Club" supporting supporting such acts Jasper Carrot, Noel Murphy, Magna Carta, Jake Thackery, Tanahill Weavers etc.
More recently in the last year the band has been joined by Catherine Gough a very accomplished muscian who's talents include accordion, whistles, piano and vocals just for starters. Catherine got into the folk scene during her University days playing sessions in and around Oxford with such notables as Spiers & Boden.
After stealing the show on the first night of the Burntwood Folk Festival in 2003 they were asked back in 2004 and other festival dates began to follow. After a quiet time during the first half of 2005 due to other commitments "Chase Mist" were back with their well received first EP "The Mermaid".
With the release of their first original Album "The Skeleton Tree" in May 2008 the future looks promising for Chase Mist. Live they are at their best so be sure not to miss them!
