We have previously shared a stage with these talented musicians; Michael Haywood (on saxophone, violin, whistle), Chris Minnis (a bit of everything) and Becca Evans (saxophone)
Influences
Too much to mention. Talking Heads, The Fall, Orange Juice, Electrelane, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Kate Bush, Los Campesinos!, David Bowie, Battles, Final Fantasy, Rush, Modest Mouse, Velvet Underground, Blondie, Prince, Interpol, Fleetwood Mac, You Say Party! We Say Die, Love is All
Sounds Like
"Unashamedly pop" Ian Todd, BAD ROBOT
"A great and ambitious band" Daniel Clifford, THE CRACK MAGAZINE
"A band that are ticking all the right boxes" James Clark, BBC RADIO NEWCASTLE
"A whole bag of telescopes and cameras, truth and magic tricks from the North East of England. All kinds of wizards of twiddliness and strange coloured beats and saxophones and brushed rhythms. Two girls, two boys, strange Englishness and voices to entice you in to their mysteriously exotic tent and gongs and a slight 1920’s feel" ORGAN MAGAZINE
Cheap Antiques were 2 boys and 1 girl from the North-East of England who formed in 2006. Pale Skinny Lovers danced, Lambrini was serenaded, gigs we're played, instruments well worn, sax and violin players came and went, and we, these 2 boys and 1 girl in 2009 have decided we can no longer continue.
If you ever saw us live, or just enjoyed the music...thank you for the support.
Hello. Please do delete this comment if you so wish.
We're just making sure that everyone knows that our debut album 'Horses For Courses' is available to buy from our little record label's online shop:
http://www.donttellclare.co.uk/shop.htm
Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
that was probably Pop's fault with his hyper distortion. Getting a decent sound outdoors is tricky though i think. Yeah i got a bit of money thrown at me but not enough to sustain the day's drinking

Are you coming to the Sunderland Music Forum meeting tonight at 'The Place', in Sunniside? It starts at 6pm, and give us all a chance to discuss what's going on musically in Sunderland. There will also be a chance to network over a bite of buffet and a drink afterwards.
After that, there is a great gig on at The White Room. It's The Chapman Family, The Angloform, plus Billy Bloodaxe, at The White Room from 8pm.
