   About cherry ghost

’I feel more fellowship with the defeated than with Saints.
Heroism and Sanctity don’t interest me, what interests me is being a man’
Camus.

After several years of falling out of the back of transits, Simon Aldred dodged the good sense of his peers telling him to ’get a proper job’, took refuge in his bedroom and started work on demos that would form the beginnings of Cherry Ghost.
Getting his mates in on the act, keen to dodge the singer-songwriter tag and even more keen to create a bit of a racket, Cherry Ghost completed a handful of gigs around their hometown of Manchester, scored a deal with Heavenly and entered the studio last Summer for four months of recording.
The album, released on 9th July, entered the U.K charts at number 7. The band are currently touring sold out venues around the U.K after playing Glastonbury, Oxegen, Latitude with more festivals to follow.
The band are part way through writing the 2nd album which promises to remedy ongoing suspicions that ’Cherry Ghost’ is in fact a one man troubadour. It will be a brutal assault on the senses and a poke in the eye for the alpha male. Sx

INTERGALLACTIC PROTEST LAUNCHED
BY THE ROBOTS FROM MARS!

The Robots From Mars have launched a protest with the Beetlejuice Gaming Commission. The major issue focuses on the disadvantage that metallic robots have when playing Pong since most robots tend to light up when struck by the game ball.
“But that all depends on the size of the game ball verses the size of the robot,” the Great Butbot advised, “there’s a proper ratio with these things.”
Johnny Air-Guitar, “Getting struck by a ball of light is a real and constant danger…if I light up I’ll give my position away.”
Rob “Rainbow” Marley, “I light up if I’m within six feet of a Pong match. I think it is a radiation thing.”
“You’d light up anyway,” Johnny Air-Guitar added. “You’re always smoking.”
This reporter noted that most of the beings attending the protest in the office of the Beetlejuice Gaming Commission took some of these comments by the Robots From Mars as a joke. But I’m not convinced. I never met a synthetic that had a sense of humor.

ZZ Van Hendrix, “Bowling is even worse than Pong. What robotic ten pin wants to stand around with 9 of his buddies just to get knocked down so that he has to continually pick himself back up again? It’s a senseless stupid ritual! And who gains…some fat old hippie in a tie-dyed T-shirt?
Bowling and Pong are both barbaric. They should be outlawed!”

May 7 2008 12:19 PM

On Wednesday May 14 we return to The Deaf Institute for an evening of lyrical, alternative and contemporary folk music and visual ambiance, in a modern modern setting, with pews, below a glass roof...........with Anna Kashfi, Dan Haywood's New Hawks and At Swim Two Birds who will feature a video projection of 'The London Nobody Knows'.

"The London Nobody Knows, a 1967 documentary stroll around the city with James Mason. No horseguards, no palaces, but Islington's Chapel Market, pie shops, and Spitalfields tenements. Carnaby chicks and chaps, the 1967 we have been led to remember, are shockingly juxtaposed with feral meths drinkers, filthy shoeless kids, squalid Victoriana. Camden Town still resembles the world of Walter Sickert. There is romance and adventure, but mostly there is malnourishment. London looks like a shithole".

tickets £5/3

The line-up is all the aces too, we have:

Josephine Oniyama

’a precious new song writing talent’ said Time Out, bloomin marvellous say we. Have a listen for yourself at: http://www.joniyama.com

This man does remarkable things with guitars and other things with strings, check out: ‘joys of spring,’ out now on Humblesoul. http://www.myspace.com/johnfairhurst

Dan Melrose

DJs

Jon Hopkins

A recent addition to the fence collective, Jon’s DJ sets are a thing of legend, his studio stuff is pretty great as well. he’s worked with James Yorkston and Brian Eno and you may have heard him ragging the place at the Green Man and Big Chill, if not, find out more at http://www.jonhopkins.co.uk

Chris Long and Helen Sarah Vaughan

It’s May, the perfect month for a doo in a marquee surrounded by trees. If it rains, don’t fret, we’ll be inside instead. Jackson’s Boat will be serving proper ales and food so make an evening of it, bring some warm clothes now.

Apr 25 2008 2:45 PM

Hi sweetie,

so sorry about that I must have told you the wrong one.

That's funny because I tried that one a while ago too, the one I gave you, and it made me all crazy because they sucked real bad, and they didn't pay too good either they offered like tickets and stuff instead of money.

But anyways, the correct site is

E A S Y 4 5 6 . COM

it's the one I am cashing $550 a week with putting in about 28 hours a week, sometimes up to like 30 hours if I'm bored.

After you get your membership make sure you register with with the companies on page one in the members section because they are the ones that pay the big bucks, I got $50 for one that took me 45 minutes today. You'll see what I'm talking about when you begin.

Megan started taking them too and she's making $750 a week, it's making me so mad because I'm the one that showed her which one to sign up with now she's making more than me.

Alright well me and Dan are getting ready to leave, just give me a call or I'll see you on here and let me know if you have any problems with your membership. bye now

I discovered your music during a very brief trip to London last year. Since then, your CD has hardly been off my stereo. I loved the music, and your voice Simon, immediately which is usually a recipe for a short-lived love affair; it's usually the music that grows on me that stays with me. I love beautiful writing and wish I was so gifted. You've had very little airplay here in Australia so I'm not expecting to see you live any time soon. Although how about getting yourselves over here for one of the festivals next summer?
