After several years of falling out of the back of transits, Simon Aldred dodged the good sense of his peers telling him to 'get a proper job', took refuge in his bedroom and started work on demos that would form the beginnings of Cherry Ghost.
Getting his mates in on the act, Cherry Ghost soon became a fully functioning band, scored a deal with Heavenly/EMI and bagged a top 10 album with their debut 'Thirst for Romance' and an Ivor Novello for 'Best Contemporary Single of the Year'. 100+ gigs later after nearly 2 years of developing their sound, they have entered the studio once again (Jan'09) with a more accomplished palette of songs and a live ethic that will strip away the layers and capture a far more confident band. It will be both a brutal and heartbreaking assault on the senses and a poke in the eye for the alpha male. Expect to hear new material this summer, in the meantime, keep the faith it'll be worth the wait. Sx
