CLIC battle of the bands // Brwydr y Bandiau CLIC

Now in its second year, the CLIC Battle of the Bands 2010 will take place at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 18 September as part of Skills Cymru , Wales’ largest ever skills and careers event. 20,000 people are expected to attend over three days.

Five finalists will take to the stage in the 250-capacity Presidents' Lounge to be judged by a panel of industry experts. The winners will then play a 20-minute set on the main stage down on the stadium’s pitch in front of all event attendees.

As well as the title of CLIC BOTB champions, the winning act will also bag a list of prizes that will only grow as the date approaches, including:

* A week’s studio time with an established producer
* The recording and pressing of a demo in both CD and MP3 formats
* A press release to go out with the demo
* A professionally shot music video
* Digital distribution to 100+ outlets worldwide (including iTunes)
* A professional photo shoot
* A professional MySpace overhaul
* Blue Banana goodie bags
* Gig slots at Wales-wide CLIC events throughout the year
* An artist profile with pictures in CLICzine which is distributed to every school, college, university and youth provision in Wales

The battle is open to bands and artists aged 11-25 and living in Wales.

Closing date for entries is Friday 30 July.

Voting will take place online from Monday 2 to Tuesday 31 August.

Finalists will receive expenses for travel to and from the Millennium Stadium for the band and up to 15 supporters.

Nawr yn ei ail flwyddyn, mae Brwydr y Bandiau CLIC 2010 yn digwydd yn Stadiwm y Mileniwm, Caerdydd, ar ddydd Sadwrn 18 Medi fel rhan o Sgiliau Cymru, digwyddiad sgiliau a gyrfaoedd mwyaf Cymru. Disgwylir 20,000 o bobl dros dri diwrnod.

Bydd y pum band/artist sy’n cyrraedd y rownd derfynol yn perfformio ar lwyfan Lolfa’r Arlywydd, sydd yn dal 250 o bobl, ac yn cael eu beirniadu gan banel o arbenigwyr yn y diwydiant. Bydd yr enillwyr wedyn yn chwarae set 20-munud ar y prif lwyfan i lawr ar gae’r stadiwm o flaen y mynychwyr i gyd.

Yn ogystal â’r teitl Pencampwyr BYB CLIC, bydd yr act fuddugol yn derbyn rhestr o wobrau sydd yn tyfu fel mae’r dyddiad yn agosáu, gan gynnwys:

* Wythnos o amser stiwdio gyda chynhyrchydd sefydledig
* Recordio a thorri demo ar CD ac MP3
* Datganiad i’r wasg i fynd allan gyda’r demo
* Dosbarthiad digidol i 100+ o allfeydd fyd eang (gan gynnwys iTunes)
* Sesiwn tynnu lluniau proffesiynol
* Atgyweiriad MySpace proffesiynol
* Bagiau nwyddau Blue Banana
* Slotiau gigs yn nigwyddiadau Cymru-gyfan CLIC trwy gydol y flwyddyn
* Proffil artist efo lluniau yn y CLICzine sydd yn cael ei ddosbarthu i bob un ysgol, coleg, prifysgol a darparwyr ieuenctid yng Nghymru

Mae’r frwydr ar agor i fandiau ac artistiaid 11-25 oed sydd yn byw yng Nghymru.
