Back in the real world, walking the dogs, watching Liverpool FC, travel and reading are how I relax. | | Music | Snow Patrol, U-2, New Order, Neil Young, Green Day, The Killers. | | Movies | Once Upon A Time In The West; Dark Star; Forbidden Planet; Minority Report; Over the Hedge (the squirrel is EXACTLY like our Cocker Spaniel); Bell, Book & Candle; North by North-west; | | Television | Dr. Who, House, The West Wing, ER (before it went off the boil), Inspector Morse. I had great hopes for Torchwood. | | Books | Hyperion, Cloud Atlas, The Demolished Man, the Nero Wolfe books, anything by Josephine Tey. Silence of the Grave, the CWA Best Novel of 2005 by Arnaldur Indridason; I've been to Iceland once or twice a year for the last thirteen years, and it's fascinating reading a crime novel set in places I've visited. | | Heroes | Heroes is too kiddy a term. People that I'd most like to meet? Rafa Benitez, Joss Whedon, Chris Ecclestone and Lis Sladen. And Rex Stout, Josephine Tey and John Thaw, but sadly, it's too late for them. |

I'm an SF writer whose novels Have been published by Swimming Kangaroo Books, a small press in the US until now. However, my next novel Winter Song will be published worldwide by Harper Collins new imprint Angry Robot Books in October 2009.
