Combine the Victorious is a band from Vancouver, Canada, fronted by Mark R Henning (record producer and former keyboardist of Pure) and Isabelle Dunlop, fashion designer and singer. Joining the two in the line up is former Pure guitarist Todd Simko, with Kevin Jones (The February March) featured on drums. The band is currently performing a selection of material gathered from both their debut album, The World Over and the following Disagreements EP. toronto
waiting on a wave to break
Our second release, the Disagreements EP, is now available. More introspective than The World Over, the songs deal with issues of betrayal, disappointment, and broken promises. The song "Please" which features guest vocalists Ingrid Schroeder and Barry Flynn, has been selected by SPIN magazine as one of its new music recommendations for 2009. Also guest appearing is former Pure guitarist Todd Simko, his lovely guitar work quite notable on the song "Back In Style." Disagreements is also our first release under the Boutique Empire label.
DISAGREEMENTS BE08003 - available now in digital release
"The World Over" was written and recorded over a span of just more than a year and a half. The first song we wrote, Blue Kitchen, has gone on to be the theme song for the television series (About a Girl). Four other songs from The World Over have been licensed for television series as well as a "All Together" appearing on an upcoming Some Bizarre compilation.
THE WORLD OVER - available on CD and digital download

Hi, Thanks for visiting our MySpace site and being our friend. We hope that all is well in your life. Black Angel released our third album in two years on Earth Day April 22, 2009. It is called O’ San Francisco. We asked Tiffany Lowe, granddaughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (and daughter of country singer, Carlene Carter, and British rocker, Nick Lowe) to sing on the album. The top picture below is of Tiffany in the studio recording with us. The album is dedicated to a close associate of Black Angel who recently died who was a big Johnny Cash fan. We also have former Johnny Cash drummer, Danny Darling, playing on the album. We hope to be touring soon and we may be playing shows with former Black Angel singer, Audrey (Mrs. Ike) Turner. The bottom picture is of Black Angel playing at The Roxy in Los Angeles a few years ago with (left to right): Tomeka Haywood; me; Audrey Turner; and Ronnie Turner (son of Ike and Tina Turner on bass). Please check us out when we come to your town.
