it was quite impossible to pass die-hard thrashers CONTRADICTION within the past years: european tours with bands like Overkill or Sacred Reich, steady festival-appearances and relentless touring activities gained this four-piece the reputation of being a kick-ass liveband. In summer 2008 Contradiction were even honoured to become the first german metalband ever to completely tour Iceland(!). Celebrating their 20th anniversary CONTRADICTION will release their 6th studioalbum THE ESSENCE OF ANGER right in time, that will deliver everything a metalhead desires: aggressive, heavy but yet melodic tunes of metal.

The 89-founded band worked very hard to step ahead... it was release of the second demo tape "Old Demon" (1992) to finally put the booking agencies' focus of attention on the band. Shortly afterwards they started recording sessions for their first full length album "Rules Of Peace" (1993), of which approx. 1.200 copies could be sold very qickly, not least according to impressive criticism in media such as metal magazines and fanzines. Harvest of all that years of hard work were support-slots for famous bands such as ICED EARTH, MASSACRA, TANKARD, HOLY MOSES etc...

Release of the second CD "All we hate!" was a big advance in the bands' musical progress and opened the door to some renowned stages. Due to some line-up changes and similar bad circumstances a complete european tour had to be cancelled and it became quiet about Contradiction though the band always existed. During that period of time not many shows were played, until it was the year 2002, when the guys decided to come back massively... and they DID!

The following touring activities was giving the name of CONTRADICTION a steady circulation in magazines, liveschedules and so on. Having the name presented in media and on many stages, combined with release of 4th album THE VOICE OF HATRED, it lead to the support-slot for european tourdates of legendary OVERKILL (USA), to be followed by festival shows at WACKEN Open Air, Dong, Suffering Life, Thrash Till Death... to name a few. This also developed a demand for Contradiction in other countries and so the band also performed in Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy.

Right after release of 5th album „The Warchitect“ CONTRADICTION hit the road for a headling-tour through Germany, Benelux, Switzerland and Italy, which turned out as a great success: many people attended the shows and the tour was then followed-up by a strong festival-season, where Contradiction played some renowned stages such as RockHarz, Rockfalls, Suffering Life and more. Subsequently SACRED REICH have chosen Contradiction to be "special guest" on their european tourdates, where the band successfully performed in sold-out venues. In summer 2008 Contradiction were even honoured to become the first german metalband ever to completely tour Iceland(!), which turned out as a great success and the band gained a lot of new friends in the very north.

Early 2009 was specifically marked by studio-recordings of the new album "The Essence Of Anger". Again produced and first time mixed by singer/guitarist Oliver Lux and mastered by Tim Buktu (Massacra, Kind tot, Uncle Ho) "The Essence Of Anger" is an oustanding piece of Thrash Metal. Twelve tough-minded Thrash Metal grenades! Twelve tracks combining melody with concentrated aggression! Twelve songs played and sung with an attitude of anger! That's "The Essence Of Anger"! That's Thrash Metal of today! That's CONTRADICTION!!!

Inspite of the studio-sessions CONTRADICTION has not stopped to devastate clubs and festivals stages allover Europe and thrashed their audience in Malta, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany. CONTRADICTION are on the road without respite in the metal world... to spread the essence of anger.
