Info
Cornbeast is a musician making electronic music on Nintendo Gameboy and other nice sounding lo-tech, lo-fi, old-school gear, like the Casio VL-tone keyboard/calculator, modified toy guitars, 80's drummachines and DIY-electronic projects.
The music is instrumental and dance-oriented and mixes influences from a wide range of sources, from electronic dance music, synth, electro and hiphop to kraut rock, alternative rock, indie and punk. By some it's labeled "chip music" or "8 bit". I call it "gameboy electro pop".
Cornbeast is primarily a live act. To date I have made 15 or so gigs, which allways are very energetic and passionate, and features me dancing, sweating, joking and fiddling around with lo-tech gear.
I have been active in the swedish chip music, circuit-bending and electronic lo-fi scene for quite some time, not only as an artist, but also as arranger of concerts/clubs (Microdisko) and workshops.
On this EP, Hupsydown show his different sounds, "4X4 Lovers" very
tekno dancefloor style, "Born To Be Bass" half Dubstep and half 4X4
Garage Bassline, out on "Force Coming" CD compilation under the name
"Musicale Bubble" with MC Lox, very strong and mythic, and the last
track, "Clark Gabble", is the dark Dubstep side of Hupsydown aka Pushy!
who takes some noises and influences from all the raves since the end
of eighties.
Hey guys! After a year and a half we are back charging full steam ahead with the release of our latest album "Songs For The Road Towards The End Of The World" this past May 31, 2009. Unlike our two previous releases this was a long duration album (LP) featuring 12 all created by Pete Drown. Mike Mellow participated in the album by co-producing it and creating the art. The first single is called "Ciento Once Grados" (111 Degrees) and we have a brief video/slideshow teaser for it on our page.
We want to invite you to download our free album and share with us your feedback. All you have to do is click on the Cover art either on this message or by visiting our myspace page. There you can also download our previous two EP's if you don't have them already.
So, that being said, I hope you download it, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you let us know. Thanks again. Micro out...
