DEATH METAL: Pretty much everything I have listened to...most of the major older death metal bands, but I guess in particular Suffocation, Cannibal corpse, Broken hope, Oppressor, Necrophagist, Iniquity etc
JAZZ/FUSION/PROG: Allan Holdsworth, Pat Metheny, Scott henderson, Dream theater, Greg Howe, Liquid tension Experiment, Jimmy Bruno, Pat Martino, Vinnie Moore, Shawn Lane etc
To form a death metal band in Norway is very hard. That is also the reason for Corpseifier being a few bandmembers short. The interest for this kind of music does generally not excist in this area(Bergen, Norway). Finding the people with the interest and the required skill is almost impossible. At the same time making music all by yourself works just fine, so it`s not a problem. I(Haakon) have a number of songs I have made over the years. Mainly I do this for fun, so I do not concider myself a serious musician. However I would like to get more opinions on my music, besides the opinions I get from my friends. I am the one making the songs and programming the drums. My inspirations are a variety of death metal artist and various other music genres like prog, fusion and jazz, but mainly death metal. My friend Bjoern plays the solos. He is more of a guitar/rock/jazz inspired lead guitarist, with no specific influences. His contributions pushes the songs in a more progressive direction. The songs posted are rough takes of an upcoming demo. Nevermind the sound, it will get better later on(will add some bass tracks and more solos).
