“I was born in the city of Toronto,” Dan Griffin tells us in the opening line of the title track of his acclaimed 2007 EP, Stars and Satellites. The disc is a culmination of more than two years of introspective writing from the multi-instrumentalist. Raised in a musical family, Dan relocated to Hamilton in 2002 and quickly found himself involved in a myriad of projects, among them local roots/indie/pop-rock act Arkells. He joined that band as keyboardist, guitarist and arranger, all the while continuing a reclusive pattern of writing and home recording.
After considerable local success with Arkells and as a solo artist, Griffin’s efforts have yielded the quiet masterpiece Stars and Satellites, which critics have described as "a touching, somber foray into deep folk, quiet pop and humble alternative country..." - (The View). Since the record’s release he has had the chance to play alongside Cuff the Duke, Elliot Brood, Luke Doucet and Jenn Grant throughout Eastern and Atlantic Canada.
Joining Griffin on this highly anticipated return to the East Coast is his band The Regrets, a talented motley crew of musicians including Charlottetown native Rich Knox on drums, the great Hamiltonian pedal steel/electric guitarist Aaron Goldstein, and long time bass player Mike Atcheson.
By energetically welding their roots rock influences, drawing from Neil Young, The Band and Ryan Adams’ Cardinals together with the intensity of Griffin’s songwriting, the group’s live show is a solid mix of folk, rock and soul that has brought audiences to their feet and made Dan Griffin & The Regrets a must-see act in Southern Ontario.

Hey Dan! How are you. Congratulations on that amazing article from the View!! What are your plans for making it up to the lake this summer? Hope to hear from you! Take care
Everything good man? I see you are playing the Horseshoe on the 27th. We have a show that night as well, but if times dont clash, I'd love to come check you guys out. If you are around the night before (26th), we are playing Clintons with some friends. Come on out if you can!
P.S. Your friend Eliot told Michele to tell me to rape your myspace comments. I was told you very much appreciate long distance fans. And who could pass up a chance to be appreciated? ;)

All the best man, hopefully see you sometime in the future.
