Daniel A. Weiss (not to be confused with the 10 other Dan, Danny, and Daniels) is equally comfortable playing piano, Hammond organ, guitar, or working behind a mixing console. He also plays some accordion and dobro.
Daniel is currently touring with Joan Osborne, Assistant Conductor of the Broadway show Hair, and performing with Anthony Rapp(original cast of Rent) in his one man show, Without You. He's also toured with Valerie Carter, Jeffrey Gaines and Cassidy .
Daniel was the associate conductor/assistant music director of the New York Theatre Workshop production of Rent and continued in that role for seven years on Broadway. He's also been associate conductor on the shows Taboo and Brooklyn. .
Theater workshops include Tarzan (Phil Collins) and Helen of Troy (Brian Johnson, AC/DC). Daniel performs or has also performed on the Broadway shows Hairspray, Lennon, Shrek, Legally Blonde and Mamma Mia.
Albums that feature Daniel's performing and producing include CD's by folk/pop/rock artists Ina May Wool, Joe Ferreri, Elisa Korenne, Bri Reitano, Jill Stevenson, Roman Klun, Rachel Bay Jones, Kailin Garrity, Bryce Ryness, Martin Rivas and guitar virtuoso Vicki Genfan and the indie film, Camp. His keyboard playing is featured in the new game release, Starcraft II by Blizzard Software. He has performed with Ina May Wool on stages nationally and internationally including the Edinburgh Folk Festival, Alice Tully Hall, and the Falcon Ridge and Mountain Stage NewSong Festivals and continues in the role of her music director/co-writer.
