About me:

The first user-driven database for the complete range of macabre locations and events all over the globe. Use it to plan trips, show other folks horrific places you have been, write about your favorite dark parts of the world or simply just be entertained by reading the entries.

Click Here to Visit Dark Destinations

Who I'd like to meet:
Any folks interested in the macabre.

We welcome haunted attractions, ghost tours, museums of the macabre, haunted hotels or any other business with a similar theme to list themselves amongst our entries in the database. If you own a haunted attraction, here are a few reasons to get your haunt listed:

1. It's free advertising. It costs you nothing but the little bit of time to make an entry.

2. Unlike other databases, we cover a very large number of topics within the field of Dark Travel. We'll bring in cross traffic from people who are searching for a different topic and who'll end up stumbling on your business entry in the process.

3. One of our goals is to make it easier on the public to string together a number of macabre locations into a Halloween/dark tour where they can hit multiple paranormal sites, macabre museums, infamous crime sites, haunted attractions, etc. during a single planned vacation. If there are other macabre locations within a reasonable distance of your haunted attraction (and you might be surprised to find out how many there are that you weren't aware of), you'll eventually see an increase in customers who are doing this sort of thing. Interest in paranormal and dark tourism is on the rise.

4. Creating your own entry gives you creative control over what is said about your business and gets your info out there fast. You can also also modify your entry as you deem necessary to keep it the most up-to-date for the public.

There are more reasons, but those are the big four and I prefer writing about creepy places over creating sales pitches. :) Even if you have your own web site (and most haunts do these days), having an entry that links to your own site will still drive up traffic to your site and awareness of your business.

To create an entry for your business you just have to perform the following steps:

1. Create a free account.

2. Read our tips for writing a successful Dark Destinations entry.

3. Create the entry and submit it.

4. That's it. We approve the entry and it is up and running.

Good luck. Good haunting. Hope to see you in our top 25 listing!

Pilgrims
move among us.
Silent, their gray lips mouth
prayers for the bountiful fields of
autumn. Feathered
Indians stand
tall in quiet corners
invoking harvest home in a
strange tongue. This is
our Thanksgiving.
Gathered together, we
are visited by the grace of
old guests.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!

There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.

Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."

And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."

Happy Thanksgiving!
I would offer a vintage cask of
Elderberry Wine to go with your
turkey, but since my great aunt,
JOSEPHINE HULL (left) was in
"Arsenic & Old Lace", it may have
quite a kick to it!  (She believed in
the "lay-away plan", meaning the
cellar, and not just for wine!) -
Have a great Turkey Day -
