The year 2010 got off to a good start with BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank featuring a track exclusive of the as yet unreleased "Large Hadron Kaleidoscope" on his morning show and BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson featuring the title track from the latest album "The Gazebo Effect" (available via iTunes, Amazon etc). .. .. Shortly after the last gig Dave Dark was in prison again, this time for aggravated pick pocketing. This time however was not wasted as our resourceful Mr Dark took up a course in Acupuncture which would hopefully stand him in good stead for a normal job upon his release. The only problem was that Dave did not complete the course before his release (last month) and only attained the accreditation level of Puncture which is basically Acupuncture without the accuracy element. .. .. Dave Dark and the Sharks will now be possibly be offering Puncture and abstract Tattooing at subsequent gigs. .. .. With recent attention mainly on the MySpace page Dave Dark and the Sharks have amazingly closed a deal with a music company, after leaping with joy and performing a rather silly and embarrassing dance Dave realised he would possibly no longer have to be selling knock off gear on the streets of Scarborough. His latest scam was selling items in the vogue of an inverse Russian doll theme with a Doctor Who bent, i.e he was selling Russian TARDIS dolls that started off small getting progressively bigger as you split them in half until you had the full size item! Putting them back together was the catch. You can catch up with him (unless you are the police) at : - ..........Amazon UK.............. ..........iTunes.............. .. .. .... .. "Dave Dark and the Sharks" have previously worked with the Brighton based group "Hush Collector" in remixing the song "Mountain Song". Progress appeared to be going very well with Rich mainly working on the production, until what can only be described as a very ugly scene broke out. Needless to say this culminated in Dave Dark chasing the Hush Collector ladies through The Lanes "Benny Hill Stylie" late one night until the police eventually cornered him in The Cricketers public house and took him away by helicopter. .. .. This month got off to a rather rocky start with Dave Dark AGAIN being taken away by the police for involvement in a suspected forgery racket, this time it was music forgery! The first exhibit the police got hold of what was supposedly "the missing piece" from William Orbits "Pieces in a Modern Style" album. This exhibit "Zadok the Priest" was available for perusal (and download) on the "Dave Dark and the Sharks" MySpace page until the fraud squad intervened; it may reappear at a later date when Dave is out "working". .. .. "I've Resigned" was the second single released (unlike Dave) and received a number of plays nationally. .. .. In readiness for the imminent time travelling gig this forthcoming April, Dave Dark has precured a TARDIS for the event; a really fast one! (very useful for police evasion). The design is similar to that owned by The Doctor except it is a newer model. It can be found currently "parked" on Scarborough Sea front in readiness for the "trip" (see photo below). Dave is also attempting to rectify a problem with the dimensional coordinator in time for the rescheduled event that was supposed to (and probably still can) take place last year. All those with last years tickets have been informed and rest assured, they remain valid for the forthcoming gig. Could all attendees use the magnetic strip on their tickets in a similar manner to a hotel card key to gain access to the TARDIS on the night of the 1st (Dave or one of his cohorts will greet you inside). .. .. The album "The Gazebo Effect" is available on iTunes, Amazon and in all good online record stores......... ...... .. ...... ...... ...... .. The singles from this album (as played by Rob Da Bank, Chris Coco and Tom Robinson on his excellent introducing show on 6 Music) can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon.com and all good virtual record stores .. ....Dave Dark and the Sharks............
