Dayer are proud to be a band that are impossible to slot into any singular genre or scene. They successfully bring together an eclectic mix of influences from all corners of the rock world to create a unique sound - music that's not ashamed to mix dark themes with melody and elements of pop.
Dayer have a sound you need to hear to understand - and when you do, it will stick with you.
Originally formed in 1997, a succesful and eventful time as Dayer initially came to an abrupt end in 2002. A 4 year break created a new vision and energy within the core guitar duo of Richard Egan and Guy Cooper, and the need for Dayer to become a force again could not be ignored. Original drummer, Craig Mapstone, and new bassist, Richard Oakes, completed the line up that played their first gig in 5 years in April 2007.
A change in bassists in October 2007 saw Mike Day join the band. After a successful period, Mike informed the band he was going to have to leave the band.
Rich Hayward stepped in on a temporary basis.
After a break, the band heard from an old friend who was interested in joining. Eddie Wyatt joined to complete a line up of the band that will do justice in a live environment to the power and emotion of Dayer's music.
Dayer continue to produce impressive new songs that quickly become live favourites and they constantly strive to get that unque Dayer sound heard by as many as possible.
