Chris on Rap
Having performed and toured with so many different types of bands, groups and artists,(ok here it goes: KRS1, House of Pain, Pharcyde,Gangstarr, The Roots,EPMD, Kool Keith, Masta Ace, Del the Funky Homosapien, Tha Alcoholics, Herbaliser, Jurassic5, Eminem, NOFX, Strung Out, The Bad Brains, The Mahoneys, Ten Foot Pole, Trigger Happy, SNFU...and believe me there are more), I would say that my influences, initially stemmed from, Jazz, Blues, Gospel (when i was a kid, not a Sunday would go by without Mom playing some Mahalia, Ray Charles...). I was introduced to Hendrix ,Zeppelin, the Doors... by some kids i was going to school with. I just thought it was cool, then i realized that they weren't just cool they were incredible musicians. But, when i discovered groups like, Africa Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force, Eric B and Rakim (Eric B for President, one of the best beats ever!!!), BDP, Public Enemy,Stetsasonic (The Original HipHop band), I just about lost my mind!!!! I knew it was on for me. Every aspect of the Hip Hop culture influenced me. Soon after that I was exposed to Punk by means of a 21 day tour with the Bad Brains (i didn't expect them to be as much of an influence as they were) It was incredible and real.
So here i am MC/producer. Support the cause. Time Soon Come.
