FEBRUARY 2009 / DS 2nd Birthday
Leeds based Club night Digital Society launched in February 2007 as a
forward-thinking dance event, and since then has evolved into one of the
UK's leading Trance brands. Sell-out crowds at Leeds most intimate venue
MyHouse, and blockbusting lineups (including 12 UK debuts in two years)
have been very much the DS signature. DS events have featured some of
todays most high profile pioneers such as John O'Callaghan, Menno de Jong,
Gareth Emery, Cosmic Gate, Lange, Simon Patterson, Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas and Matt Hardwick to name but a few and with a highly respected resident team including Activa, Will Holland and Kane Nelson, the Digital Society ethos is very much regarded as the cutting edge of todays Trance scene.
2009 sees Digital Society continue its evolution and celebrates 2 years in the
business with the launch of new Enhanced Recordings label imprint Digital
Society Recordings, with the opening releases featuring music from the likes
of Temple One & Activa - and the first volume of the much hyped CD
compilation series, 'DS International' [MIXMAG Album of the Month June 2009] - with a fantastic Album
Tour already under way across the UK, headed by Volume One artists
Trance Legend Matt Hardwick and DS Resident Kane Nelson.
After Successful event collaborations in 2008 including tours with Passion
Coalville, Electronic Sessions London and Solarize at the Amsterdam Dance Event, the beginning of 2009 sees new projects on the horizon with industry
giants. Further DS concepts making massive noise in 2009 includes the
afterhours.fm RadioShow 'Digital Society Sessions', and the ever growing 'DS
Invitation' which has been showcasing the finest up & coming Trance talent
from around the UK.
A new Trance brand has truly arrived.
