.. .. .......... .... .. ..........Dion Durdle is a songwriter from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, who has just released his first CD titled "The Real Rock and Roll". In explaining the title for the CD Dion says, "The Real Rock and Roll happened when Jesus Christ rose from the dead, and the Resurrection of Christ is the message and theme I want to convey through the music God has laid on my heart." Dion writes with intensity and passion that he feels comes from being a Soldier for Christ in the Salvation Army, and is inspired by its history and tradition. "When The Salvation Army began, it was a radical and innovative movement, because it took 'worldly music' and turned it into 'Godly music'. I want to march forward in that tradition and claim Rock music for Christ" says Dion. Formally a member of the Halifax Christian Rock band Grounded, Dion has played with other local artists such as Latterrain, and has been involved in various Christian events in the Halifax area. Dion's passionate lyrics and rock flavour will definitely turn heads. You'll want to pick up a copy of this EP for sure, exclusively at Noah's Ark in Bayers Lake, Halifax.
