My all-time fav is Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, books by John Irving, The Mindhunter series of John Douglas, Richard Marcinko, Flags of Our Fathers, Charlie Wilson's War, Dennis Lahane's A Drink Before the War and Mystic River, World War Z, The Time Traveller's Wife(yes, it's a romance novel....but I like it), Chris Golden, Tom Sniegoski, Brad Meltzer and most biographies and/or books on historical events.
And don't even get me started on comics and graphic novels.
