Hi Donnette! It's my birthday..... AGAIN!!! .... and I'm STILL not rich and famous!! I know you've probably been wracking your brains out for weeks, trying to figure out what to get me for my birthday. :>) Well here's what I'd really like: Please forward the King Gully video (below) to five (5) friends who you think might enjoy it, and ask them to do the same. Kind of like a chain letter, except the recipient actually gets something cool. All modesty set aside, (moi? :>), it's a freaking great song, and a nice video too. Happy New Year to all, and Happy Birthday to ME! ("It's my birthday, and I'll spam if I want to.... :>) Thanks everyone! Rick Novak. My old friend King Gully was the first Rasta surfer on the wild North Shore of Barbados. This song is based on his true story. It's been described as a cross between "I Shot The Sheriff" and "Puff The Magic Dragon". :>) I think you'll like it, as well as the shots of great surfing and amazing waves, all from Barbados! Enjoy.... For full screen viewing and sharing: http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=jjFRtKuXJ6E
recently uploaded several photos of Donnette in 1980, rehearsing with Gavin Blair in Davis California, in Donnette's first band, The X-Men - page 1 of davis80smusic/myspace photo pages
Here's the Bali Surf Gear video with Donnette singing "Bali Hai". Donnette and I recorded that some 10 years ago, and I've been traveling a lot to Bali to surf in the years since. Even though the actual island of Bali Hai is in Tahiti not Indo, the song often plays in my head when I'm out in the water in Bali. So it seemed appropriate to use it in the promo video for my hooded rashguard company, Bali Surf Gear. Check that out at www. balisurfgear. com And enjoy Donnette's amazing vocals! Cheers, Rick Novak.
Hiya, long time no babble! Thought you might enjoy seeing Bucky Burro kick some Republican piggie butt! :>) Hopefully the country will do the same next week. Aloha, Rick Novak. For full screen on YouTube, click on the link below. http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=SwfAe7yhD8Q Send it any of to your friends who might enjoy it, or to any Republicans who might not! :>)
Thank you for adding Helpless Dancer to your list of friends, Ms. Thayer. I have enjoyed your ethereal vocals and guitar artistry over the years with Game Theory. I am just discovering the beauty of your solo work. Our guitarist played with Gil in the Happy Eggs in Charlotte, NC, many moons ago. Best wishes. RG
Hi Donette - yeah, I've heard plenty about you through Tony as well...we'll be sitting side by side on the Jenny album I guess. (well my band Hitchcock's Regret anyhow). Take Care and thanks for stopping by. x
Hey, Donnette. Just listened to your interview. You sound pretty much they way I envisioned, so that was a terrific little treat. I miss our little chats and the wild conversation topics. Looking forward to the new music!
