An unassuming club night in Malmö, for people who assume too much. Once a month we will play you the indiepop sounds of today that will be forgotten tomorrow, the fuzzed-out tweepunk of the 90s that you forgot, the janglepop and paisley underground no-hit-wonders of the 80s you just remembered, and the coolest sunshine pop, yé-yé, northern soul and garage-psych of the 60s that you forgot to remember. The Pop Establishment took one look at us and ran. DDOMD makes them forget to remember to forget. Resistance is futile, so get off the bandwagon and get on the merry-go-round!
Back in Malmö for more action! Write to heavensabove at kittymail dot com if you want to get in touch, or sign up to the mailing list here!
Occasionally we have also put on gigs, even though we are not actively looking for bands to book. Who has played so far? Well, nobody less than Scarlet's Well, A Smile and a Ribbon, Harvey Williams, The Icicles, Katie Jennifer Stewart, G.O.O.F., The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and The Pinefox!

The Historical Romance is a bit of an odyssey that takes in Jackie Cain & Roy Kral, Billy Vera & Judy Clay, Red Krayola & Clinic, Johnny Thunders & Patti Palladin, Freda Payne & Pennies From Heaven, plus much, much more ...

The Enormity of Small Things, the sixth issue of Your Heart Out, is a special edition, with The Flirtations on the cover dancing in the ruins of an abbey, while inside take as a starting point Dexys' Coming To Town shows in 1985, add a soundtrack of lopsided soul and odd pop, and enjoy lots of thoughts about how things fit together, and the consequences of intuition and influence.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xtnz2gryyyr Find out what happens when you take the Main Ingredient, Motors, Malcolm McLaren and Jeanne Moreau, Milva and Morricone, Marilia Medalha, Letta Mbulu, Mark Murphy, Mixed Nuts, Moonshake, Ella Mae Morse, Marcia Griffiths, plot them on a chart and join the dots. It's a bit of an odyssey, but there's some great places to visit en route!
thanks for doing the poster! yes, i know, i'd like to go to malmo! well, we still might go if someone offers us a show there. and don't worry, i'm sure we'll be able to play in melbourne in early july. we play lots of shows here normally. but perhaps you should remind me closer to the date so i remember to organise it! maybe you can dj?
The Puddle is a very good choice. Probably Bats next in Dunedin in late April and Christchurch on 8th May. Possibly could play Wellington and Auckland but no plans as yet.
We're playing this Thursday, 26th Feb, at the UCSA Orientation concert in Christchurch with an impeccable line-up of Liam Finn and The Mint Chicks. We have insisted that we are first on stage!
