DREW GIBSON, guitarist, songwriter and Virginia native, is proud to announce the release of his long-awaited debut album, LETTERBOX from CRAGMONT RECORDS.

Distinct as a dusty street, as if grown from the earth, rooted in soil and dirt, yet blossoming with flowery heartache, Drew's music possesses a brand of yearning for the simple things - front porches, letterboxes, and all things folk and blue. Working with award-winning producer, MARCO DELMAR, and such talented musicians as drummer ROBBIE MAGRUDER, bassist JON NAZDIN, as well as close friend and fellow musician, PAUL CURRERI, Drew has released a body of work with eloquent testimony.

Possessing an acoustic foundation with walls of electricity and melodic in its simplicity, this debut release brings a level of professionalism and maturity rarely seen in a freshman effort today. LETTERBOX reaches into a world of country blues, roots music, Americana, and folk. With influences from Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, and Mississippi John Hurt, and even John Coltrane, spinning melodies with outstanding guitar picking stature is truly this working man's craft.

"One of the best CDs of 2007."
- Indie Acoustic

"Virginia singer/songwriter's album starts off with a bang - three strong originals (one of which reminds me of vintage Mark Knopfler)...it's well worth checking out."
- Ken Barnes, USA Today

"Who is Drew Gibson? Only one of the most talented singer-songwriters to emerge recently from Virginia. Gibson crafts heartfelt lyrics that are confessional, personal and poetic - the kind of music that makes your heart ache."
- GoTriad, Winston-Salem, NC

"Drew is an insanely talented blues musician with great vocals and songs. Reminiscent of an old Grog favorite of mine, Ben Andrews, Gibson skillfully plays Delta Blues with a great hook."
- Colin Hoss, Grog and Tankard, Washington, DC

"If I hadn't seen it for myself, I could have sworn David Wilcox and Peter Case had somehow spawned an offspring. With a hint of 'old school' blues, Gibson's songs are thoughtful, passionate, and full of emotion. Backed by some dazzling guitar work, he delivers them effortlessly with vocals that can be both course and tender. When it comes to up and coming singer-songwriters, Drew is certainly someone to keep your eyes on."
- Chris Patterson, Austin Grill, Silver Spring, Maryland

"Drew Gibson reaches deep into his roots as an American musician and arrives at the blues on his own terms. He is true to his musical heritage, yet constantly redefining this legacy."
- Todd S. Hale, Richmond, Virginia, multi-media artist

"Gibson shows off his smoky voice and nimble guitar-playing . . ."
- mp3.washingtonpost.com, Editors Pick

You really need to pack your bags and move on up to Philly.

There are holes in the music scene here and one of them has your name on it.

Drew. I'm really liking what I hear on your CD. Let's meet up in person when I get back from Nashville. You've got that "early" Springsteen thing going that is really really cool.
I look forward to meeting you -

what about the ending of No COuntry for Old men?...did that not rattle you? I sat through that film ..on the VERY edge of my seat...legs shaking...diggin into the arm of my father sitting next to me in anticipation of what was to come...thinking the whole way through that i hadnt seen a movie this good since Silence of the Lambs or Seven....and then it ended..just like that..over...all my questions bouncing off the back of his head as he walked down that neighborhood street...i gasped..LOUDLY!

no? you didnt? you loved it?

Really?

Just curious, do you have a newsletter or anything that keeps folks up to date with your tour dates? I'm really hoping to see you up here in the Pacific Northwest sometime in the future. Been loving the songs you have on here... wearing them out actually! Goodluck on the new record. Really can't wait to hear it.
