Since being founded in 2002, Dubcnn has quickly become one of the premier sources of Hip-Hop news, media and interviews online. A young and innovative organisation, Dubcnn has quickly established itself as a direct link between fans and artists across the globe.
Our content range is being expanded and methods of delivery improved, from our Audio and Video, down to our interviews and features - Dubcnn is set to once again redefine Hip-Hop journalism online.
2007 saw our most rapid growth to date and with visitor numbers at an all time high and steadily climbing, Dubcnn moves into 2008 with newly defined goals.
This year will see the introduction of new features, the first of which is the new MySpace avenue of interactivity with much more on the horizon. We aim to continue to expand while bringing you the very latest news and media in the best possible time.
Dubcnn had the great opportunity to sit down with West Coast veteran Xzibit for an in-depth 3-Part interview we like to call "The Life & Times Of Xzibit". In Part 1, we discuss his childhood, why he became a rapper, hooking up with the Likwit Crew, the L.A. scene of the early 90's and coming out with "Paparazzi".
We then talk about 2Pac, Xzibit's path until he met Dr. Dre, the experience of being on the Up In Smoke tour, the "Restless" album and the dominance of the West Coast during that period in time. Lookout for Part 2 where we talk about Snoop Dogg's beef with X, his career after Restless, "Pimp My Ride" and more.
Dubcnn hooked up with Kokane recently for the first time in two years to conduct an in-depth interview about his upcoming projects but ended up going back in time to the Ruthless era and Kokane shared some of his memorable stories with us about the past. The interview was over an hour long so we decided to drop the interview in 2 parts. This second part continues with Kokane talking about Ruthless Records, Eazy E and Death Row. We also discuss his current projects with Suga Free, Raine N Lane N Kokane as well as getting the latest on working with Dr. Dre.
Dubcnn connected with Kam, OG Kam, Brotha Kam, West Coast Kam, whatever you may want to call him. He talks to us about his long awaited album "Self & Kind", the group Warzone with him, MC Eiht and Goldie Loc, and the upcoming West Fest Tour that will be happening this summer.
It's a given that if we interview Kam, we're gonna get into some politics, so we talk about the popular "gangsta" image in Hip-Hop, who the real enemy is, him being block from the game, and much much more.
