Band MembersDunc sings and plays guitar, sometimes he likes to sing and play guitar on his own at acoustic nights but he also likes to sing and play his guitar with Darryl who plays drums. This is handy as two piece bands are dead fashonable and that.

Falling and Laughing also have a bassist emeritus called Stu, who lives in Belfast, not Birmingham, which is why he's a bassist emeritus and not a bassist.
InfluencesThe Autumn Store play list

Sounds LikeSonic Youth on Sarah Records crossed with Jens Lekman fronting The Wedding Present, or, trying to name drop cool references in the sounds like section without being like any of them, or, Daniel Kitson - who doesnt even sing, or, chordgazing (it's a bit like shoegazing), or, The Field Mice being slightly miffed about something but acting fine about it, or, doncaballerogopop or, borrowing Sufjan Stevens-esque song naming trickery for my amusement in the "Sounds Like" section on myspace.

   About Falling and Laughing
Falling and Laughing: There are some songs playing that we perform. We hope that you enjoy them, feel free to download!!

Falling and Laughing are two piece indiepop band from Birmingham, UK.

Well, I say indiepop, but I also kind of think that every band should have it’s own completely made up genre though just to show what a pointless exercise the whole slicing of music into little bits is. Plus it’s fun coming up with daft genre names - come up with one for your band (or if you’re not in a band, form one, come up with a daft genre name and start plotting what instrument you’ll play in them)!

So let’s try that again.

Falling and Laughing are a two piece chordgazing band from Birmingham, UK.

Though to be honest must people would just call us indie.

Releases :-

So far a track called Thank You Daniel has been released on Accidental: An Odd Box Records Sampler

There's plans afoot for a download single on Odd Box Records later this year, and an EP called Bunnyhood in January 2010.

Dear Falling and Laughing HR

I would like to clarify the meaning of the song questioned as causing offence to your Hamster, namely the song "yrinaband."

It was not intended to deter your hamster from forming a band. It was not intended to deter your hamster from writing music. It was not suggesting your hamster's band might be shit, were they to exist.

The song is, in fact, a criticsm on an imaginary scene, of people in bands who go to shows to ''network'' , with no care whatsoever of the music, of people who go to gigs of bands they think nothing of with the sole intention of making those people go to their gig. An endless cycle of apathy and empty praise.

It is not meant to discourage people from starting bands or making music.

Apologies for the confusion. I hope your hamster can now begin his career as a budding singer songwriter.

love and hugs

J

Hello. Please do delete this comment if you so wish.

We're just making sure that everyone knows that our debut album 'Horses For Courses' is available to buy from our little record label's online shop:

http://www.donttellclare.co.uk/shop.htm

Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.

International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.

Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.

Lots of love
