dustedORANGE are a Melbourne based rock band who have shifted gears over the past year and pride themselves on a second-to-none live show. Original members Alex (Guitars), Damien (Vocals) and Gary (Drums) began forging the dustedORANGE sound in 2000, and the following few years saw success with their debut EP ‘Concordia’, produced by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect, Dead Letter Circus) receiving airplay on Triple M. A subsequent tour along the west coast of America saw the band playing shows at the Roxy and Whisky A-Go-Go and gaining acceptance from a discerning US audience.
Since their inception in 2002, the band has undergone a series of line-up changes, the latest which saw two original members leave and be replaced by Karl (Guitars) and Jason (Bass). These two new members have brought with them a fresh set of influences, and over the past 12 months a new hard rock-and-roll sound has been created, drawing influences from ACDC, Guns and Roses, KISS and Queen, all the way to bands such as Tool, The Tea Party, |MUSE|, Radiohead and others.
With a trip to the States set for the later part of the year to record their first LP, the band are preparing for the recording by playing a series of live shows across Melbourne. The late 80’s early 90’s seminal rock and roll sound has been melded with the best of the rest to create a new sound – that is reminiscent of classic rock and roll but with new life and energy. The band’s live show is uncompromising – an all out assault on your audio and visual perception that has been somewhat lost throughout Australia in the past decade.
dustedORANGE - It’s the way a rock and roll show should be.
