Little Boots - Arecibo EP (Iamsound Records) (12" Vinyl/Digital Download)
..
"Little Boots (aka Victoria Hesketh of Dead Disco). The Arecibo EP sports the infectious "Stuck on Repeat" and "Meddle", as well as a pair of remixes, and it's due out on 12" and digital download. Both "Repeat" and "Meddle" were co-written by Hesketh and the Bird and the Bee's Greg Kurstin, and both were produced by Joe Goddard of Hot Chip. Fake Blood turn in a remix of "Stuck on Repeat", while Ebola meddles with "Meddle"."

Ebola started making electronic music in 2000 using a walkman with a pitch control, and some Commodore 64 loading tapes. He moved to Brighton in 2001, formed the
Wrong Music
crew with
DJ Scotch Egg,
Roger Species
and
Shitmat,
and began organizing chaotic parties with ridiculous line-ups from around the globe.
After buying a computer, doing a live session for Rob da Bank on Radio 1 in 2006, and getting a slot at the Glade Festival, Ebola began to establish and develop his low-frequency, glitched-out "grime-core" sound.
Since then he has taken his explosive live set all over the UK, Europe and some parts of America.
He has collaborated with
Otto von Schirach,
Neil Landstrumm
and
Shitmat,
and shared the stage with Clark, Mu-ziq, Wolf Eyes, The Bug, Scorn, Ceephax Acid Crew, Mark One, Duracell, KK Null, to name a few.
These days Ebola's live sets are aimed at the dancefloor, and take in many "bass-oriented" styles from dubstep to dancehall, breakcore to booty-techno, crunk, grime, gabba etc.. and showcase his complete lack of ability to stick to any one genre or tempo.
"..I must admit, I'm a lot more concerned with making people dance than I ever used to be......but if I can make a few people fall over in the process then that is of course, a bonus."
He has a few other side projects going on. Some of which you will know about, others you probably won't.
"Super evolving tech-noir hydraulic-step that pushes two metal fingers into the bloody eye sockets of Skream. The two winners here being lead track Painkillers, and Shitmat's hyper focused screw-influenced take of Teledildonics. Music to both aspire and perspire to."
- King Cannibal/ZILLA (Ninja Tune/Warp/Rag and Bone)
"Really nice work man! I especially like the original mixes".
- DJ C
"Ebola just managed to damage my ears even more with this awesome 4-tracker EP...time to buy some new speakers i think!"
- Bong Ra (Kriss)
"Really loving the Mutant Dubstep vol. 1 record! It's refreshing to hear music that is for the dancefloor... but still pays attention to structure. It moves!!! 'Painkillers' definitely leads the pack... but the whole release is fire. You guys smashed it."
- Starkey (Werk/Slit Jockey/Trouble & Bass)
"Exactly the kind of stuff we need these days, breakcore is stale, dubstep is going slowly up its own bum. Nice to hear some good honest BASS stinkers. They should light up the dancefloor, get people waving their crunk cups and gripping their balls gangster style (if they have balls that is)."
- Bruce Stallion (Proboscus/TigerBass)
"Mutant Dubstep vol.1" is the first CD out of Spectraliquid's "Mutant Dubstep" series, which will be complete in September 2008. Stay tuned!

"Ebola's new "On a Gastro-Bass Tip" e.p. is a incredibly wicked ride. Intense, broken dubstep/IDM/Experimental Madness. I have been playing it constantly in my car now for 2 weeks!!!!
The track "Girlfriend Trouble" is going to be a dance floor hit!"
(Richard Devine)
"While others jump belatedly on the dubstep/breakbore bandwagon, Ebola continues to sidestep genres with a melding of collision-course rhythms and truly unnerving electronic soundscapes. Close your curtains and turn this up to 11. Spring, is about to get really, really dark".
(Zan Lyons)

One afternoon, in the waiting room of a needle exchange, I watched afternoon telly and bashed out four new tracks. Individually, in one take, I recorded them live onto tape.
Outside, methadone addicts argued ferociously about hardcore lager and fed a dog raw steak. Inside, an over sensitive monster vented at the imagined scent of a tofu passanda.
Acroplane now present you a small slice of my life, down and around BN1 4GB.
The brothers John and Paul Healy, collectively known throughout the world as Somatic Responses, are still native residents of a small industrial mining community snugly located in the southwest region of Wales. Somatic Responses are into complex dislocated & broken beats, distorted intelligent constructions, fascinating sonic structures, force and sweetness intertwined.
If their early productions were of the hardcore and techno kind, and while they later moved on to breakcore territories, Somatic Responses have now embraced more up-to-date and modern sounds and tackled the current dubstep sound that has taken their native UK by storm, and are ready to out-bass pretty much everybody else.
Mercury is definitely an important release for SR as it displays their progression further into dubstep & it's ever mutating siblings. A shape of things to come AND some of their best material for some time.
Having released a couple of tuneful albums with theAudiologist and Soni Jimm since my last LP, "Fear of Mathematics", Section 27 Netlabel brings you "Wrpdata”, containing 14 tracks full of chunky, breathy and some would even say pleasantly broken breaks, some good-time-mind-fuck glitch, a few (thankfully blissful) orchestrated mixes featuring the talents of Pinklogik and theAudiologist (also acting as co-producer on this release) respectively, and ends sweetly with some beautiful spoken word poetry by the lovely aussie Cindel Waddington.
A delight on the sensory organs from start to finish, "Wrpdata" is available now for *free* download. Licensed by Creative Commons.
