The politics of many of the aforementioned bands are not necessarily reflective of and in some cases are in complete opposition to the political orientation of Echo of Bullets. (Let's just say that we really like the sound of their music, but not the stuff they say.)
Echo Of Bullets was formed out of the desire to bring heightened representation to two traditionally marginalized elements of punk: Asian Americans involved in the genre of metal influenced hardcore and radical leftist politics.
What began as a simple conversation between friends has now become a vehicle in which to bring to the forefront both a positive representation of Asian Americans in punk rock and a sharp alternative to American mainstream culture and politics.
The name Echo of Bullets(Alingawngaw Ng Mga Punglo ) was borrowed from a documentary made by the Southern Tagalog Exposure that exposes the human rights violations committed against the broad masses of the Philippine peasantry and working class by the U.$. supported Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and the many anonymous civilian death squads.
