______________________________________
It is somehow fitting, that Eden's Bridge would be one of the last established artists to get themselves a myspace page. Eden's Bridge has for over ten years, been the kind of band for whom self-promotion has not even been a mystery, merely an irrelevance. With this in mind, it is quite suprising that the band has sold something approaching one million albums and charted in the Billboard World Music Top Ten (USA).
So, it is on this day, the somethingth of February 2007, that I, Richard Lacy (keyboard player of the aforementioned and self-styled laziest band in the world) will be attempting to selflessly brave the dangers of the internet and bring the world a little page here about us.
The extremely short version of how it happened: EB was formed in 1993 by Sarah Lacy, Richard Lacy and David Bird. We started as a group of songwriters, but the songs we were writing did not fall into any category that would make them easy to place with other artists, so Eden's Bridge (the band) was born as a home for the songs. Jon Large came in to play bass, followed by Terl Bryant on drums. In 1995 the band's first album "Fear No Evil" found it's way onto a useful desk at EMI in Nashville. Someone, somewhere did some paperwork and a modest £3000 changed hands. The band returned to the studio and along with a helping hand from Troy Donockley, the first EMI release was completed. The rest as they say, is history.
....
The 2002 release of the acclaimed "Isle Of Tides", marked an important point for the band; this was the first album which had been made exactly as the band wanted it to be, with no outside influence. A reviewer said of this album "The only problem Eden's Bridge will encounter with Isle Of Tides, is that one day they will have to follow this masterpiece". The reviewer may have had a point, as seven years have elapsed.
But finally, in 2009, we've had an idea...
....
And that's all we're going to say right now...
If you know us from way back, or even if you're finding us for the first time, Do say hello. Thanks for dropping by, whether it was intentional, unintentional, or by my invitation.
THE CHANGING SONG... From January 2008, one of the songs in our player will be changed on a regular basis; a cursory glance through the iTunes folder revealed that if we changed the song every week, there would be enough material to last nearly four years! Once a week is a bit much for our modest play-count, so I'll do it every few weeks. One problem that I have encountered is that myspace has a maximum file size for song uploads. Lots our songs are way too long and consequently, too big! I've tried compressing the files further, but the resultant sound may be likened to someone throwing a bag of spanners down a flight of stairs. And let's face it, no one wants to hear that...
Current song: On The Sea (Eternal Father Strong To Save)
The words to the marvelous old hymn were written by William Whiting of Winchester, England in 1860, as a poem for one of his students preparing to sail to the United States. This new tune was written by Richard in 1993, as he felt the original and familiar tune was a little austere for the band to perform. This is a live recording, made on the final night of the band's Live - In A Little Room tour, in December 2003. The version on the live album is edited down a bit. This is the full length version.
A few friends asked if I could allow the linking of our songs to their profiles. I have now ticked the appropriate box, so go ahead; add some diddly-dee to your profile.

It is easy to tell what people do like to hear but it’s hard to tell the truth!
A man went to the shaver to shave his beard and started a conversation about God with the person who did attend him.The shaver said: “I don’t believe that God does exist, how you say”-“Why do you say that?” asked the client.- “Oh, that’s very simple. Out there in the streets you see that God does not exist. Or tell me, if God would exist, would there be so much sickness?Would there be so much abandoned children? If God would exist, there would be no suffering for the humanation.I can’t believe in the existence of a God permitting all these things. The client remained silent, he didn’t response to avoid a discussion. After having shaved his beard the client left the barbershop and saw a man with beard and long hair walking along the street. He went back into the barbershop and said to the shaver:
-“You know what? The shavers do not exist.”-“Of course, they do! Here I am!-“No” said the client “they don’t, If they would exist there would be noperson with beard and such long hair as that man outside”.-“The shavers do exist. The thing is that the person does not come to me”-“Exactly…!” said the client. “That’s the point! God does exist. The problem is that people does not go to him nor does seek him. That is why there is somuch hurt and misery.” The shaver thought about that. If you believe that God does exist, FIRST SEEK GOD, and then all other things will be given to you!
