Former Delgados member. Signed to 4AD Records as a solo artist in June 2005 after having major panic attack about what to do after band split. It was either that or bugger off out of the music industry altogether and go and find work that I would probably walk out of within a month.
Considered putting out an album on Chemikal Underground for about 5mins and then figured out that asking my freshly ex-band mates to put out my solo record may be a little odd for us all so I then went to look elsewhere and as Delgados had a history with the Beggars Group of labels (Mantra put out our albums outside the UK) I ended up with a deal with 4AD, on which my first album 'Watch The Fireworks' was released in September 2007.
Funny how things roll on however, as I am now pretty sure that my next album, which I am currently writing, will be released on Chemikal Underground. It's nice to be back in the fold.
I plan to start recording early next year with the hope of getting a new album out in the autumn of 2009.
Fantastic set last night at the Barrowlands! The new songs are fantastic and I really enjoyed the sweet vocal harmonies. Can't wait for the new album now!!

Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Nearly bumped into you at the toilet door before the show started, was going to ask you to sign my ticket but thought it was a bit of a strange moment to ask. There will be other times i'm sure.
Had to leave early for the last train and missed the Finale :-( Was brilliant all the same.

Please check out three of my new songs, which were taken from a recital, recorded live, without a microphone or any other source of amplification, at Escola de Música do Rio de Janeiro (Music School of Rio de Janeiro). The poem was written by Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa and the music was composed by maestrina Patricia Lopes. Semi-classical song, with special harmony and melodies.
