Sounds Like
Nothing you'd ever heard before or will hear again. But, if you like The Go-Betweens, The Field Mice, James, Boo-Radleys and the Smiths you may well like A House.
Legendary Irish indie greats, A House, released 5 studio albums between 1988 and 1997 to mass critical acclaim. From the Stadium shaking debut 'On Our Big Fat Merry-Go-Round' (with it's US Billboard Chart hit 'Call Me Blue') to the heartbreaking (and heart-warming) swansong, 'No More Apologies', these Dubliners emerged from the much lamented early-90's Irish rock scene with more cred and more critical acclaim than most. A number of UK chart singles, tours with The Go-Betweens and the House of Love (A House were actually supported along the way by Radiohead, Blur, The Charlatans and Sleeper ) and a devilishly controversial hit single, Endless Art have cemented the bands place in history, not just locally but internationally. In 1997, an emotional, tear filled and jam-packed Olympia Theatre, Dublin, witnessed the bands final performance. Since then, Front man (and chief ironist) Dave Couse, has released two critically acclaimed albums ( Genes - Beep Beep and The World Should Know - 1969 Records ) and a number of singles. Check out Dave Couse's Website Dave Couse's Website for updates and tour news. Also, a retrospective best-of A House, 'The Way We Were' was released by Setanta and EMI in 2002. That year an A House track, 'Here come the good times' was chosen by national radio listeners to be the official song to the Irish World Cup soccer team. This track duly went to number 1 in the charts

INTERNATIONAL COALITION OF ARTISTS UNITE TO MARKET MODERN PEACE MOVEMENT
Friends,
The following is not an attempt to shamelessly self promote using your myspace page, rather it is merely passing the good word along about the new peace movement. Read it, delete it, or post it on your page, but just pass it along so that we can all help in getting this movement started.
Cheers,
Victor-Hugo
The founder of the Modern Art Music Movement, Victor-Hugo, has amassed an international force of talent seeking to promote peace in the modern world and revive the energy of the sixties peace movement. The documentary entitled “Marketing Peace” will follow the visionary artists attempt to organize a global day of peace using all available resources including media outlets, philanthropists, soldiers, humanitarians, and marketing agencies. The Modern Art Music Movement artists have condensed the John Lennon, Paul McCartney mantra, give peace a chance, for the A.D.D.MTV generation to simply state, try peace.
Lead by the small, brother and sister, Latino marketing firm of Fenix Marketing Media, Victor-Hugo’s positive message of peace has resonated quickly around the world. Thanks to the efforts of modern day artists like Johnny Marr, who realize that the time for action is imminent, John Lennon’s message of peace has been revitalized and embraced by the “Lied To Generation”. With the backing of pioneers like South Beach impresario Gerry Kelly and the popular, Modest Mouse, the coalition of artists hope to pull their resources and contacts together to mark a day in human history when the collective conscious of mankind takes one day off to contemplate the idealistic notion of world peace.
Asked to comment on his lofty aspirations, the tenacious artist said:
“The recent United States election has shown the planet that we, as Americans, are ready to cooperate with the rest of the modern world to set a positive example. Democracy has given power back to the people and the people of the world are ready for a day of peace after all the heartache we have experienced in the years following the tragic events of 9/11.”

Victor-Hugo says he hopes to win the goodwill and support for the United States, that followed the 9/11 terrorist attacks on his homeland. He believes the same energy and brilliance it took to orchestrate the war in Iraq can be used to orchestrate peace.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an idealistic dreamer who thinks that we can create absolute peace on earth. I realize, unfortunately, that it is unrealistic and impossible because of the beautiful chaos which exists as part of the human condition, but Woodstock, Live Aid and Live Eight proved that a day of harmony and self awareness can be achieved. Like John Lennon said, people asking questions lost in confusion, well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions.”
Gnarls Barkley, Thievery Corporation, Phil Rothwell, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Malcolm XXX, John Keenan, Giorgio Costantini, Other Brother Daryl, Oh No! Oh My!, Two Bear Mambo, The Beat Counselor, G. Anthony, DJ Josh Wetherington, LouLou Djine, Karina Zeviani, Dave Schulz of The Goo Goo Dolls and The English Beat, and Rythm of OMD and General Public have joined the international Modern Art Music Movement coalition of artists hoping to influence global leaders to promote and market peace through education, rather than promulgating intolerance and war through ignorance.
“I believe our leaders have realized that the gig is up. Greed, war, and corruption has brought humanity to the brink of extinction and mother earth will shrug us off like the dinosaurs if we do not quickly put aside our differences and cooperate to fix what we have broken. This is not a political movement. This is a conscious human movement.

We have reached a point in history where scientists are warning us that we must stop polluting our planet, terrorists are being called freedom fighters, and our leaders are setting such a bad example for the Lied To Generation that all sense of civility is being lost.”
Victor-Hugo’s website, www.vhvii.com, has gained an underground cult status amongst politicians, college students, and art lovers around the world. His groundbreaking modern art graphic novel, Capicua 3-1-3: The Long Arm of the Law, has revolutionized the way people digest news by incorporating his artwork with real time local and global events.
The waning newspaper industry has lost thousands of readers to the internet and Victor-Hugo has filled a void in a world where some people get there news from disrobing anchormen and women. His controversial BLOG entries have covered news topics that no other media source has dared to investigate and exposed issues affecting the global community by incorporating Salvador Dali style hidden images as clues in his paintings.

Gerry Kelly and Victor-Hugo are preparing an event for Art Basel Miami which will highlight the censored artwork produced by the artist including his Hurricane Wilma Exhibit which will be displayed on a movie screen and mixed to modern music from around the globe. His original painting of The Three Soldiers will be on display in Miami during Art Basel, before heading off on an international tour through Europe and Asia i
