  • Bio

Genres do little to describe the sound of Odist. Comprising three passionate musicians, Jason Craig, (bass and samples), Sarah Wilson, (drums), and Parker Newell (guitar). Odist are known for merging genres with captivating albums and energetic live performances. Their creativity is starting to pay off. Odist's first show elicited thunderous reviews. Bringing about “flawless transitions” and “banging breaks”, they have created a signature sound. Shortly after, Odist began a persistent tour schedule. With the releases of, On the 49th Day LP, Idle EP, & self titled EP, Odist has been heralding music to the east and west coasts. Along the way, they played a record braking performance for dirtysouth.tv. Fast forward a few years later, word of mouth landed them an inspiring show with Free Moral Agents. This group features Grammy award winning keyboardist Ikey Owens, of The Mars Volta. Impressed by Odist's sound, Owens offered to produce their 2nd full length; and presented to them the opening slot for FMA's spring tour. The sound of Odist is sure to take audiences on an eclectic journey of experimentation through a world of artistry. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..Barberries House Party 2008...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..PRESS:.. .. "Not 5 minutes after he was off stage I got a text saying that Odist was playing so I hustled over to DU only to find they had not even set up yet, but at least I didn’t miss anything. This was their EP release and there was definitely a good crowd there. Graham Yoder of the Atlanta band Jungol was a guest guitarist with them on a few songs and totally ripped it up. Sarah destroyed the drums. I’ve seen her play a number of times and she always rocks it out, but this time she really let it all out. I can’t stress enough how much of a amazing musician Jason is. He is definitely one of the best bass players that I’ve seen playing out in Atlanta and together he and Sarah make up a MEAN rhythm section. The show was great, the new music is HUGE for a two piece, and Graham stepping in for some of the older material from when they were a 3 piece couldn’t have been better."--bret phillips, bretphillips.com/ .. .. "Odist is amazing. Enough said. They played a 3 song set at our show this past Friday. Each song was a monstrous mashup of drums, bass, crazy loops and unbeatable, elaborate beats. They had a string break that couldn't be replaced so they were unable to play the 3rd planned song; the resulting jam-out was nothing short of brilliant. They played a 10 minute improvisation that made me smile the entire time." --www.beatatlanta.com .. .. .. ..VENUES PLAYED SINCE JUNE 2008:.. .. Corndogorama @ Lennys- Atlanta, GA .. Bio:

ODIST has a very impressive line-up of musicians, making a three piece band sound more grandiose. Assimilated in December 2007, ODIST has accomplished much in the short time they've been together. 2008, their first show was played at the renown Corndogorama festival in Atlanta, Ga. That June they blew their audience away. Haveyouheard.net stated the next day "...this three piece holds it down...Prog rock sound, flawless transitions, banging breaks.." and that was the first show! Since September 2008, they passionately toured all around the east and west coasts, and they have certainly broken records for most views on independent internet show Dirty South TV (www.dirtysouthtv.tv). Jason Craig (bass, samples), Sarah Wilson (drums, etc.) and Parker Newell (guitar, etc.) all make up the extraordinary band ODIST, a musical group with new refreshing ideas on rock music today.
