Here's what others have to say about Dalmacio von Diamond:
LA Record: Opening the night in downtown was Dalmacio Von Diamond. I pictured this guy walking out of a Dostoevsky novel and heading straight for the stage. I wanted to compare these songs to the Magnetic Fields because of the low melodic voice accompanied with minimal instrumentation, but there was something dark, dangerous and heavy about these tunes and performance. I was almost expecting/hoping Dalmacio VD to cross some line up there… some dangerous line I've never seen crossed before—maybe next time?
LA Buzzbands:
Dalmacio Von Diamond, who's played in such local bands as Holy Curtain and Swft Wngs, recently released his debut, "The Other Side of Darkness," on new imprint Albino Crow.
Far from the noisy stuff usually associated with his familiar Smell scene, Von Diamond's album, recorded with the help of drummer Luis Perez, is literate, dark and … well, makes me introspect the way Nick Cave's music does. Von Diamond calls the work "simple pop songs in the vein of Scott Walker or the Divine Comedy." But they feel anything but simple.
Babble and Beat Music Magazine:
Dalmacio Von Diamond & The Enochian Keys are dishing out very tasty morsels such as 'The Last Song', 'The Black Lodge' and 'Nightmare Loving Arms' - the latter which reminds me of Tiny Tim meets Interpol...
Sean Carnage:
Dalmacio Von Diamond… What to say? This guy was born with rock in his soul. He plays his band (the Enochian Keys) like an instrument, whipping up frenzied blasts of spirit-searing sounds. You’d have to have a hard heart not to love him. The things he sings of are so universal.
