"[Categories is] a tight, well written and well played EP, full of soaring melodies and plenty of head bang thrashing moments." -Spirit of Metal (17/20)
"Each track [on Categories] is jam packed with impeccable guitar work, precision drumming, and harsh, yet audible vocals. Check [Ethereal Collapse] out if you like your metal to have substance rather than fashion." -The Salty Pirate

Reviews (click the links that follow for full text)
"...[Breaching the Citadel] fucking rocks; none of it ever becomes predictable or stale. Every track on this disc is a breath of fresh air for the melodic death metal fan who has seen the greatness of the mid to late 90’s dissolve into a shit-stew of bad clean vocals, metalcore breakdowns and scattered, uninspired songwriting." -Deadtide
"...not one minute [of Breaching the Citadel] is boring. This is one of the best self released albums I heard. If you’re looking for some good melo death in the vain of Soilwork...mixed with some thrash metal, this is the album for you." -Digital Steel (80/100)
"...a very musical, melodic performance with just the right amount of attitude...skeptics who claim that Thrash has exhausted its creative boundaries should check [Ethereal Collapse] out." -The Metal Observer (7.5/10)
"...a perfect balance of [thrash and melodic death metal]..."Breaching The Citadel" is a great first release by a very promising band. The music is excellent and it showcases the great musical abilities of the band members, it also shows that they have talent for writing good songs." -Infernal Masquerade (91/100)
"Chuck [Schuldiner] must be smiling from his grave. [Breaching the Citadel] is a very well done, professional CD." -Unstoppable Force
"Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllentttttt alert!!!!!! I certainly didn't expect [Breaching the Citadel] to be this damn good!" -Ultimate Metal
"...if solos are what you like, then [Breaching the Citadel] and all of its amazing, sweep-picked leads are just what the doctor ordered...This is a band in need of a home." -Pivotal Alliance (4/5)

BIOGRAPHY
Hailing from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Ethereal Collapse is an ardent group of individuals who seek to do nothing but propagate the spirit of true heavy metal. Throughout its existence, the band has striven only for purity and excellence, crafting songs that embody everything that is great about classic heavy metal. Melody, aggression, and other traditional elements are readily discernible throughout each Ethereal Collapse song, and its members work hard to ensure that these ideals are preserved. Blending the sounds of Bay Area thrash with Swedish melodic death metal, they present a frighteningly original brand of music. With several recordings released to critical acclaim, the band is determined to conquer the metal world, ready to annihilate any adversity that stands between its members and their destiny.
"Ethereal Collapse is one of the best up and coming melodic death metal bands America has produced." -Pivotal Alliance
"Ethereal Collapse personifies every aspect of heavy metal that I happen to love: fast, heavy guitar parts, multiple integrated guitar solos, breakneck drumming, and powerfully-delivered vocals." -Deadtide
"...one of the best melodic death metal bands we have heard from the USA." -Infernal Masquerade

Yeah man the original Beyond Fallen is playing gigs this summer after some time off. We did a show here in Richmond, VA another in Clifton, NJ at Dingbatz, and we are on the Binghamton Area Metalfest with a whole bunch of cool bands Sept. 12th. I guess unless you are doing local gigs in nepa nobody really knows what's going on. We're hoping to finally write and record some new stuff, but right now we're doing the gigs and having fun. I want to do a gig back home in PA, hopefully that will happen in the coming months. talk later - joe
