Exploding Plastic Records is a new sub-label, formed off of Idol Records (Centro-matic, Old 97’s, Deathray Davies, the Fags). We’re looking to create a sense of community with artists who are like-minded and willing to explore the boundaries of pop melody and the visual medium; artists who will work to support each others musical/artistic endeavors.
Looking to our influences, we are searching for a variety of cohesive genres that are diverse, yet meet under similar ideals. Psych-rock. Folk. Ambient. Symphonic. Pop. experimental electro. Over the course of the next year, we will be working on a number of releases in a variety of formats (seven inches, albums, art shows).
