  • Bio

.. .... Ex-Wise Heads formed in 1997 through a chance meeting of bass player Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), and multi instrumentalist Geoff Leigh (best known for his work with the legendary Henry Cow). The line-up has shifted slightly since then, with Edwin and Leigh joined first by percussionist Julian Franks, later replaced by Vincent Salzfaas, who played on the first album "No Grey Matter" (2000) and departed after the second "Time and Emotion Study" (2003). Since it's formation, the band has released four studio albums, a limited edition vinyl only album "Celestial Disclosure", "Grounded" a download only EP, and one CDR of out-takes "Everything is Hear" (via burningshed.com) as well as gigging around the UK at various venues and festivals. Ex-Wise Heads continues for the moment as a studio project, with Edwin and Leigh joined by various guest musicians. Latest CD "Liquid Assets" follows the Ex-Wise Heads methodology, intelligently blending timeless and contemporary sounds, elemental rhythmic structures, striking solo performances and refreshing and unusual instrumentation underpinned by deep basslines. • RABID SOW REJECT

Well now, thanks to those clever people at BANDCAMP.COM, Shelfy & Minty have made it possible for you to enjoy the entire "TALES FROM THE WINGED EYEBALL" album in glorious streamin' high-fidelity S-T-E-R-R-R-R-R-E-E-O-O in the privacy of your own head (It's A Freaky Trip On 'Phones!). If you really like it, then you can HAVE IT FOR NOTHING in any darn digital format that takes yer fancy! Well, I never.

Meanwhile, the resident player on the Rabid Sow MySpace now features four more tracks that didn't quite make it onto the album. Rejects, if you will. Except they're not bad at all.

PS... Some of you may have been deterred from downloading this delightful product because you were previously asked for your contact details (e-mail address, postcode etc) before you did so. Just to let you know - THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE! I've now un-checked the box for the e-mail option and you can download the zipfile directly. I've tried it. It works. Thank you for your patience, MINTY

    Hey,

    Thanks for the connection !

Tell me when are these times that I have dreams about
Are they mere memories of better days gone by
Unsubstantial fancies fated to fade away
Or horizons waiting to be arisen to ?

And the fire I felt when this hope was brand new
When not even Everest could have kept me from you
Has it burned its brightest or just given a hint
Does it smolder for chance or consume its last fuel ?

And the bridge you promised would serve as my footing
Had I strayed from the path or was my step unsure
Perchance that fall was meant to complete my healing
So I'd see for myself what my strength could endure ?

Weren't you the blue bird that had awaken me
As I laid in the cold suffering of torment
Sung me out of starving, loathing and lethargy
Invited me to rise and resume my ascent ?

As I now look forward to more of your magic
Contemplating what so far had kept me bemused
Just ahead are the times I have dreamt ecstatic
I see the horizons and I am reinfused

    Best wishes,
    Chris
