Ab jetzt kannst du unser neues Mini-Album "Appointments" bei unseren Konzerten oder direkt von uns (einfach eine Nachricht schreiben!) kaufen. Es kostet 6 Euro. Bald wird es auch bei iTunes und über Mailorder greifbar sein. Sechs Stücke sind drauf. Alle sechs behandeln eher konventionelle Popmusik-Problemstellungen wie Liebe, Einsamkeit und Scheitern, tun das aber nicht unreflektiert (was in der Regel von niemandem bemerkt wird).
Auf dem Album sind darüberhinaus zum ersten Mal die unglaublichen Picking- und Sliding Skills unseres neuen Bandmitglieds Frank zu hören. Das traumhafte Cover wurde mit viel Überlegung und voller Hingabe von Chrizzi Heinen gezeichnet und ausgemalt. Madeleine Bloom hat unsere Aufnahmen gemixt und dabei sehr viel Geduld bewiesen: Planlose Spuren wurden zu geordneten Tracks. Vielen Dank!
From now on you can buy our new mini-album "Appointments" at our concerts or directly from us (just write a message). Soon it will be available at iTunes and per mailorder, too. The album also features for the first time the incredible picking and sliding skills of our new band member frank. The wunderful cover was gently and dedicatedly drawn and crayoned by chrizzi heinen. madeleine bloom mixed our recordings and excercised a lot of patience, bringing chaos into order. thank you for that!

Falk beklopft den Alltag nach Bedeutung: „Denn da, wo man durch muss und hinterher wieder rauskommt, braucht man Melodien und Reime, die da sind. Manchmal.“ Er spielt in vielen Formationen mit, unter anderem bei D.Cooper & The Pigbirds und HorrorMe & The Special Needs und organisiert seit ein paar Jahren die Berliner (Anti)Folk-Veranstaltung „Fourtrack on Stage“.
Die Band „Die Wiese“ wurde mehr oder weniger als Live-Band gegründet. Nach einer ausgedehnten Deutschland-Tournee zur Veröffentlichung des ersten Albums "Pigeon and Moron" im Herbst 2007 war aber irgendwie Schluss (Arbeiten, Heiraten etc.). Falk hat dann im Winter ein geheimes Cover-Album aufgenommen, das er seiner Frau zum Geburtstag schenkte und bei sich zuhause immer allen vorspielt. Außerdem wurde sein Song "We Belong", eine als Liebeslied getarnte Apologie des Opportunismus, auf dem Sampler "Berlin Songs 2" veröffentlicht.
Seit Spätsommer 2008 probt die Wiese aber wieder: In einer minimierten Besetzung bestehend aus Falk, der singt und Gitarre spielt, Christin, die ebenfalls singt, aber Orgel spielt und Axel, dem Schlagzeuger (der live manchmal durch Steffen vertreten wird.) Dieses Jahr noch wird das zweite Album von "Falk & Die Wiese" erscheinen, der derzeitige Arbeitstitel lautet "The Backlash of Mediocrity or Imitations". In April und Mai 2009 machen Falk & Die Wiese zusammen mit D.Cooper und Sibsi eine Europa-Tournee.

FALK is looking for meaning in daily life: because sometimes you need melodies and rhymes to get by. He formed his band DIE WIESE (German for "the lawn") to perform his debut album PIGEON AND MORON (recorded in his bedroom). After an extensive German tour with the upcoming indie band IT'S A MUSICAL (Morr Music) in 2007 he somehow called it quits (working, marriage). In the winter of 2007/08 FALK recorded a secret cover album for his wife's birthday that he always plays for other people. His song "We Belong" - an apology of opportunism disguised as a love song - was also included in the "Berlin Songs 2" compilation. In the summer of 2008, FALK & DIE WIESE started rehearsing again: with a minimal set up that includes his friends Christin (vocals, 60s organ) and Axel (junior drumkit). FALK co-organizes the Berlin DIY concert series FOURTRACK ON STAGE. In Berlin, he supported indie greats like THE WAVE PICTURES (Moshi Moshi), MAJOR MATT MASON USA (Schwervon, Olive Juice Music), ADRIAN ORANGE (K Records) and AGENT RIBBONS (broken carousel).
