Faraquet were a band from 1997 until 2001. We released two 7" vinyl, one split EP and one full length CD called "The View From This Tower" on Dischord Records in 2000. Both Chad and Devin are currently in a band called Medications that have released an EP and a full length on Dischord Records. Dischord recently reissued all the material released prior to their full length and we briefly reformed to play shows in support of this project.
when i first heard faraquet it was like bearing witness to 9,000+ penguins marching in time to the beat of an ancient mythological seabeast pounding his jelly-horns onto the shore where 9000+ more penguins lay dead (from disease and hunger, not the seabeast). few bands can invoke such feelings of nostalgia in me. for that moment... i was there. riding the seabeast. great music boys, levels beyond the norm.
Thanks for accepting my friend request. I bought the 'anthology' a few months back having been a big fan of 'all your favorite people'and I wanna say thanks for digging these tracks out. This is just the music I want to be hearing right now.
I lived in Brazil for a year (2005), where I discovered your bands; they have a great scene there for rock bands now. Of course I have missed your Brazilian tours though - - - so i have to ask, Will you come to the UK? Or anywhere in Western Europe will do me...
