PRESS BIO:
Chicago-based band (via Madison, Wisconsin) Flame Shark's fourth album Raw Flowers sounds like Americana music filtered through the crusty speakers of a 1979 Cadillac Eldorado. Soulful, triumphant, heartbreaking horns wash over the album's ten songs, keyboardist Rusty LaRue's dirty, powerful Hammond organ swells bring to mind a backwoods gospel session and his tinkling, borderline Barrelhouse piano jangles throughout giving the record a sometimes plaintive, sometimes celebratory feel. The immediate follow up to Raw Flowers (released on August 22, 2009) is an album Flame Shark has tentatively dubbed Farm Life.
Their fifth album in three years, Farm Life, being recorded at Chicago's Engine Studios, is a straightforward, swampy, soulful, swirling blend of Louisiana culture, in all its' dirty glory mixed with the tangible, sometimes grungy energy that runs through Chicago and the peacefulness, tranquility and rural beauty of the Northwoods in Wisconsin. Their whirling, harmony-drenched sound has been called a “Tumbleweed Orchestra!” and they've often been compared to the flag carriers of Americana, The Band. Flame Shark is, “An often under-appreciated and overlooked band who is a hidden gem of fun and catchy songs, especially in a scene filled with bearded nincompoops whining about corn and who knows what else.”

Thanks for the add here on MySpace. Our Cubby Bear show was a blast! A great night with all 10 bands. We will continue to have mini CRC shows throughout Chicago-land.
There are ways to get involved with the CRC. We are always looking to expand and add more bands to our bills. For example, at the Double Door, Rachele Eve will open the night up for 3 CRC bands.
If this is something you'd be interested in, stay in touch and come out to a show to introduce yourself! We are all good people and love meeting other hard working artists!
In that case, I hope your heads never start spinning again.
And, I'd love to see you all play on the 8th, but I'm still at this unfortunate age of 20 years at which I would like to see some really fantastic shows, however 'they' will not let me in.
Yes! Thank you so much! We love your new album and we miss our favortie band too! Hope you can come back and play for us again soon. Every one keeps asking about you. I am so glad you are doing well. Please come back very soon!!!
