Flash Grenade is an independent rock band from the Baltimore-Philly region, often playing in Philly, Delaware, and Baltimore. Having been together since July 2004 -- breaks, line-up changes, and fights aside -- the punk rock/pop-punk band has continued to make you hard down there album after album. The Original Three Members (Matt Lowder, Josh Hack, and Chris Lowder) were resposible for the first two efforts, including 2005's "15 Stories" and 2007's "We've Had Enough".
In 2005, Flash Grenade released their professionally recorded, 50 minute debut album "Fifteen Stories", complete with lyrics in a 12-page full-color booklet, totaling over 15,000 dollars worth of work. The investment has already turned itself over by selling over 800 copies between 2006's Tour and 2007.
Flash Grenade independently toured in the summer of 2006 from North New Jersey to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and over to West Virginia. It was an incredibly successful experience; (the last show in Myrtle Beach was performed at an outdoor bar. They were not paid by the bar, but still sold a thousand dollars worth of merchandise during the two hour set). They've played in MD, VA, DE, NY, NJ, DC, WV, SC, PA and have had "singles" featured on radio stations in several of these states, including 93.7 WSTW's Hometown Heroes of Sunday nights. They are still played regularly.
In May of 2006, Flash Grenade won SECOND PLACE in the "Concerts First" series known as "Exposure: Music Live"-- a Battle of the Bands at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia where more than fifty bands competed all day long. They are also a three-time winner of the Cambridge, MD Battle of the Bands and the recipient of a "First Place" AND "People's Choice" award from the Sunstock Battle of the Bands held in Rising Sun, MD. They've also been on the front cover of JUMP START magazine featured in the CECIL WHIG on October 21, 2005, and have been interviewed live on 93.7 FM WSTW.
The year 2008 was a rocky year and full of doubts due to school, extended travel, moving homes, communication problems, and other life-changing responsibilites/events. 2008 saw a very few shows, a sinking in popularity, and a good-bye to Chris Lowder, the original bass player and back-up vocalist who studied abroad in China and Japan for the last half of 2008 and almost all of 2009 into 2010. Flash Grenade went on hiatus from July 2008 until July 2009. Matt Lowder, (the manager, songwriter, drummer, and singer) didn't give up though. He found a new bassist, added a second guitarist, and formed THE POP SENSATION -- www.myspace.com/thepopsenastion -- from July 2008 until July 2009. After a year of this side-project, the decision was made to step it up a notch, keep the Pop Sensation line-up, and return to being called FLASH GRENADE. The band recorded 13 new songs in August of 2009 and are going to be releasing it Halloween 2009.

You're crazy matt. But that's why I love you guys. Looking for a drummer? Weren't we just talking about your drumming skills? Are you going to play bass for chris? Anyways I should be your drummer, I don't meet any of your requirements, well, except for love of rock. I don't live near you and I'm not good at drumming. Sounds perfect eh? Lol! -steph
i know that hate comment that was left is old news but i just wanted to point out that he is the guy you are talking about in all your songs- the guy that doesnt care about making a change an is just going to follow the masses and ugh. hes an idiot. kudos on your reply matt.
anyways, i love all the new stuff and i look forawrd to the cobra skulls show! ill definetly be there :)
What we really need is our music back!!! Today's music is filled with president bashing, war hating, political whiny babies! Please... leave your politics out of my music and shut up! Be a real musician and write something original! But... I GUESS YOU CAN'T!!!
SO I WROTE HIM THIS:
fuck you. And, yes, i would say this to your face. the problem is that everyone only sings about safe topics that won't rub anyone the wrong way. in fact, the majority of the music is safe and rated "PG", so i don't really even know who this post was directed to. not that many bands even try to write about what they feel needs to be changed about society. some shitty things need to change, plus, it's freedom of expression. no band should ever take your stance and censor themselves. what's a real musician to you anyway? what should we be singing about? are we just suppose to be entertainment monkeys? no one just slams a president, a policy, or a war without knowing some facts about it first, and if they are, then I would agree with you. If a band is just slamming a president to be rebellious and cool than that band is an asshole. I'm sure that some music out there is this sort. However, do not make blanket statements like these, because some of the intelligent and informed people have a right to protest and sing about things that they believe is wrong, just as you have the right to bitch about bands making statements that you probably don't fully understand.
"i may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Peter Griffin from family guy said this. Peter Griffin is smarter than you. Never stop pissing me off, cause I will never stop pissing people like you off.
love, your brother, enemy, friend, fellow citizen, not a democrat, not a republican,
